Myself and my husband visited after all the good reviews. Never again. I presume a lot of visits are because it's "cheap and cheerful", yes it's cheap, not so cheerful unfortunately, waiter was extremely rude and food very poor. Expected much better considering the standards...of food elsewhere in Italy!More

Stopped here on our way along the Almalfi coast. Very friendly, very good food and all for a price seldom seen in this part of the world. All with some amazing views

I can’t believe this place isn’t ranking higher than it is right now (35th/95). It is a gem. The prices are totally reasonable and the quality is high. Some of the “fancier” places in town should be ashamed of themselves in comparison with G.A.S. Bar....They have a downstairs by the road where you can grab a coffee, a cold drink, or a smaller takeaway type snack. But it’s worth stopping and going upstairs for a sit down meal if you have the time. The view from the rooftop patio is really special in the evening. If you’re into cliff diving, you’ll be tempted to jump the railing into the sea for dessert. My wife and I have gone two years in a row. The pizza is excellent. The knives are legit (important to me). The service is kind and their English isn’t bad if you need it. Don’t be fooled by the places in town. G.A.S. Bar might not look like much from the outside, but it will put many other pizzerias to shame. Two pizzas, large bottle of mineral water, small tap beer = €21More

Wow! This was one of the best restaurant's I've visited in Italy! It is a local spot with a lovely view from the balcony. My family ordered a few different dishes, including the margherita calzoni, which I ate. This calzone tasted amazing and the ingredients...were very fresh. The portions were also very fair: I was able to finish the calzone but it was very filling and one pizza can probably feed 2 light eaters as my sister and mother were able to share one. The prices were extremely reasonable for such a good quality restaurant with great food. I believe the margherita calzone was about 4 euros and the margherita pizza was about 5 euros. The only complaint I have regards the service. There was a big party on the balcony as well and they kept on ordering different dishes when the waitress came around, so we were definitely not prioritized and it took us a long time to get our orders in. Having said that, our food did not take very long to come once we ordered. Aside from the poor service initially, we had an amazing experience here and we would love to dine at the G.A.S. Bar again.More

After a 10 minute walk from our hotel we stopped here for lunch. Its on the coast line and they have a terrace set up on the roof which has a super view on the ocean. Ordered a pollo insalata which was really good and...fresh. Their pizza also looked very good. Nice place, nice price and nice service. What else do you need....More

My boyfriend and I might never stop talking about how much we love GAS Bar! We were fortunate enough to have it right across the street from our hotel, so we went more than once. The pizza is absolutely incredible, the prices are remarkably low,...and the views are like those of a fine dining restaurant. It was seriously a highlight of the entire trip, which is really saying something.More

No brainer: fantastic food, incredible view, mind blowing tiramisu, and good prices! Not in the normal tourist area, about 1 mile west of downtown Amalfi. The food here was so good we ate here twice! Our first visit was 2 pizzas, 1 wine, 1 beer,...and 1 coke for 27 euros. Our second visit was 1 pizza, 2 tiramisu and 3 drinks for 28 euros. To reach the restaurant area, go in the front door, turn left and go up the stairs, but keep in mind that food service doesn't begin until 7pm. Do yourself a favor and eat here!More

We stumbled upon this place the day we arrived in Amalfi after driving in from Rome after a long flight. It was about a 5 min walk from our hotel, Villa Maria Luigia. G.A.S. bar has a walk up coffee/drink bar right when you walk...in with a glass case of sweets and a couple of premade pizza's to go or eat by the counter. The day we arrived the restaurant upstairs was not open yet. We were able to get expresso and cappuccinos and hot chocolate for our teenagers. We gratefully enjoyed the pizza and sweets after our long day of travel. We did go back another evening to the upstairs restaurant for pizzas and they were great. We actually came here almost every day to stock up on bottled water. If you do not want to head into town for dinner, this place is great for pizza, drinks and coffee. I did see a lot of drivers and locals come pick up boxed pizza to go, or just pull up to have a quick coffee by the bar.More

Hi, to return to Positano with the SITA Bus the stop is right in front, the ferries instead start directly from Amalfi which is a kilometer from here.
