Great seafood in Calpe

Looking for great seafood in Calpe? Look no further! Go and visit the Capri. It's not only a restaurant with a wide selection of seafood dishes but also a sushi bar next door where you can see your dinner swimming live in the aquarium (blue lobsters and rock lobsters). Although the prices are in the higher range, the food is worth every penny. The staff is competent and helpful, so you'll always get the best advice to help you choose your treat.

Great service and food!

Excellent service and food. We had the best jamón ever to share as a first. Then we asked the waiter to give some time for the main meal. Despite we we're quite late, they assured us nothing was a problem for them. They said they loved their work and were there for us to make us comfortable. As a main I had a lovely cooked lobster. They showed their offer at the table. French lobster or grand Langostinos which I could choose myself (big or biggger, I chose the big lobster). Perfectly cooked, especially with some olive oil and salt I put on myself. My hubby had a medium solomillo of beef. At the first cut he made it seemed to be well done. The waiter saw it before we could say anything and the cook made him a new one which was perfectly cooked. Lots of sorries and a drink of the house to make it good which was not necessary for us. Things can go wrong and the fact that the waiter mentioned it right away was good enough for us. After that my husband had his best dark chocolate cake ever! As a finish we had a lemon / Vodka cocktail prepared with finesse. The best thing beso. des the food was the patience, relaxed atmosphere, the smiles and excellent service of the waiters. Team Capri thank you and Thibault a kiss for you. If we could rate 6⭐, we would have!

Very nice restaurant and excellent foods. Good service specially the MaitreD I will believe. All speak English and French as Spanish as well of course. Nice tables clothes white cotton but napkins are polyester not great. They present you fishes, lobsters, Maine lobsters as well, great shrimps and French oysters before hand, that nice. It’s expensive be careful if they recommend a dish like for us 80 € a fish for 2 ,oysters are 5.50 each, better know. For Spain to me it’s overpriced but it’s goods. We didn’t look at the real menu so I didn’t make the best choice I am sure other dishes are way better.

Lovely location right on the promenade

Specialising in seafood for us was the draw and it is a very attractive looking restaurant. A little disappointing that the Oleron oysters were sold out, but hardly surprising in the New Year. Our main course was sold meuniere and we were not disappointed. Desserts were brought to our table to choose from, and although I'm not a dessert fan I was very taken with one made with cream and oranges - delicious! Staff were attentive, chatty and went the extra mile with a digestif following the meal. When we are back, we will return.

Twelve months ago I arrived in Calpe. Spoilt for choice with restaurants I gave Capri a visit and have been back many times since. Today I fancied Fish Casserole and enjoyed a lazy three hour lunch. Still the same team which says a lot about a successful venue. The waiters are a great bunch - happy, cheerful but also professional. They enjoy serving great food and mixing with the guests. The menu choice is varied with fresh seafood the focus. Your encouraged to view the produce before cooking and see how fresh the fish is. The kitchen is flexible on your requests too ! You feel special in their surroundings and the view is hard to beat and ever changing. Afraid you must book well in advance - impossible to get a table in peak season ! Enjoy.

Very Disappointing experience

We booked as two couples 48 hours in advance and requested a window seating didnt get that. Service was underwhelming at best. Hated having to order from shared tablets. Main course took nearly 2 hours, T bone steak undercooked although requested medium, at 128 Euros! vegetables were stone cold. No apology from management and we left without paying. A great setting but they have a lot to improve on food presentation and service for the prices charged.

Location is marvellous but service and food are very average. We were looking at restaurants for friends who are coming this summer, so they have a selection of venues. I guess this restaurant is used to dealing with a casual stream of visitors and have no idea that residents want a more personalised service at these prices. We had booked a table and the staff seemed unable to decide what to do with us. We were handed 2 tablets with the menu and wine list - my husband’s tablet had a cracked screen and mine kept turning itself off. Not sure about the hygiene around these tablets - they were never wiped. Worse still at lunchtime they reflect the sunshine and are virtually impossible to read. The waiter Denis could care less! He made no recommendations and basically it was a problem to serve us (we were the only customers at this time!). We ordered ventresca and tomatoes to share followed by Chateaubriand. A big issue is made of the olive oil but having seen one of the kitchen staff filling up the bottles of oil it made me wonder if we were actually receiving the oil that was shown on the labels. The tuna and tomatoes were underwhelming. The steak was undercooked and the vegetables were overcooked. This was not a pleasurable lunch and I would not recommend it at all.

I visited this restaurant with 6 friends on high recommendation but very disappointed with the food and the price, which was extortionate for what we were served. One plate of salad and bread 27 euros! The vegetables were hard and virtually non existent. The potatoes were discoloured and been overcooked, the steaks were not enjoyable and the bill was 50 euros a head with 2 meals deducted from the bill after complaining. We had to choose from a menu via a bar code downloaded on our phones or on a tablet. Not acceptable. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone !

We visited Calpe (Calp) for a short 3 day break as we love the Town. We live just 25 minutes away in Alfaz del Pi. We spent the day on the beach and wanted a special evening at a special place so we picked The Capri, we booked a table for 7.30pm and on our arrival the staff seemed preoccupied with other customers and asked us to take a seat at a table at the front of the restaurant which was a lovely position. It took 15 minutes for someone to ask us what we wanted to drink and then the electronic menues were brought to us, nothing was explained. I had to ask what certain detail was on the menu like PSM next to some of the dishes and certain ingredients in the meal description. The staff seemed occupied with customers who obviously tipped well, for clarity if the service is good we tip very well. We then had octopus tail which was like the tail ends of left overs. But yet a couple opposite us who were obviously regulars got a full octopus tail. ???. We had ordered a rare steak and muscles for our main dishes which we had to wait 1 1/2 hours for. We placed our orders at 7.45 and still did not have our main dishes at 9.20pm. Even though people around us that had come in to the restaurant a good 30 minutes after us were being presented with their main meals. I would say that all that shines is not gold in this case. We were very upset and disappointed in the service. One of the waiters when I questioned the time period even told me to wait, be patient and I was not the only person in the restaurant. How rude and unprofessional. It was only when we stated that we lived in the area and were not on Holiday and felt like denouncing the restaurant that they changed their attitude. We asked to pay for what we had eaten and that it was far to long between courses. We did this. Really the Manager should have apologised and scrapped the bill. But unfortunately they seemed more interested in getting us out of the restaurant than apologising. Terrible customer service attitude. I wonder if we had been millionaires would we have had the same problem. We went next door to the Spanish restaurant and had a lovely time. Very disappointed

7 of us went for dinner after a recommendation, and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Two meals were completely inedible, rack of lamb dried out and cold, unable to cut. Entreated steak that was 80%fat and gristle. €27 for bread and Ali oli, all the vegetables were raw a d too hard to cut. A very very expensive mistake test we shall never repeat.

Nice swanky gaff, fine dining and a good menu. The food is very nice. Usual holiday protocols apply, they want your coin and complaints are not well received. We waited 50 mins between starter and mains. We had a huge portion of calamari for stater which was nice. Once finished I continued to pick at it as we waited forever for anyone to Come back to us either to check food was ok, enquire as to whether we wanted another drink, or just to ask if we were finished! When I asked where the mains where, they struggled to answer and I said it’s ok we will just have the bill. Mains appeared within 3 minutes, and we were told it was our fault as I hadn’t closed my cutlery to signify i had finished. Which if true meant they assumed everything was perfect and they were just waiting for the subtle hint that we were done for over an hour, nice one maitre’ D! No comms we’re necessary from taking our order until we closed cutlery. TBH the bloke was a total half wit for even offering this poor excuse. The place is high end and expensive, this nonsense was poor form. I wouldn’t say don’t go, but be proactive to ensure you get the most from your visit as the food is very nice. Make them do their job, you’re paying for it!

Capri is a beautifully positioned, well presented restaurant on the sea front. Serving good quality food and wine with friendly, attentive staff and a good atmosphere, there aren’t many negatives other than a QR code menu which I’m not fond of but it doesn’t detract from the experience. Keep up the good work!

We ate lobster, rubia gelagga spanish meat and a nice wine. Very nice people, high quality for a restaurant by the beach. We had a lovely dinner and the check was really affordable. 188 euros for 2 x lobster, galugga meat 880 grams, good wine, apretive and coffee. Go there without a doubt. The wine suggested was affordable but very very nice !

Fabulous Food, Service, & Location

I really don’t do many reviews, but this restaurant made our holiday extra special From the wonderful food, exceptional service, & a fabulous location. We ate here 8 nights throughout our holiday, and couldn’t better it anywhere else. The Food is high quality & reasonably priced. The wines are good value and personally didn’t think they were expensive, especially as you get quality service. A special thank you to all the staff Hopefully see you next year

NEVER TO RETURN We were two couples and it was sad, we had a reservation and we were waiting for 15 minutes, they put us at a table that right next to it there was a birthday party with a dog included barking (I don't understand how they can allow a dog in a restaurant) the owner or in charge of school with the birthday party, at the end the waiter comes and serves us bland salad, the oysters were good, 45 minutes passed until the main dishes arrived, dry cod without flavor, dry red tuna and so on, it doesn't correspond at all to what What do they say to NOT RETURN?
