"La Favorita" is my favourite restaurant for dinner in Madrid. If you love the real music, don't miss it: you'll have a memory for a lifetime. My advise: discover yoursef this unforgetable place!

I am not a great opera fan, but I love this place. One moment a waiter is serving you wine, the next singing opera... fantastic. The entertainment was the highlight of the night. Although the food was not at the level of other leading fine dining restaurants, it was still of a high enough quality. The price is on the... More

This was a truly wonderful evening: the food was delicious and the musical experience was excellent. As a musician and food lover as well, I found the whole evening delightful. My wife loved it as well, and my boys, aged 12 and almost 11, also found it amazing as it was their first experience of live classical singing. They were... More

A Nice concept, employees of the restaurant turn into good singers and good performers. The artists are professionally educated and are good entertainers to the eating audience. Unfortunately the food presented is a slap in the face, the turbot was floating in a tomatoe sauce and served with drowned potatoes and green beans. The cod almost fell apart on the... More

This restaurant is famous for its opera singing waiters ... up-close & personal. We found our visit to La Favorita as being very memorable but unfortunately not the food. The steak was terrible - asked for medium to well done and it came out almost "blue" ... perhaps it may have been due to a language communication problem. The staff... More

This place is great to have dinner the food is correct - But La Favorita offers a great show of waiters singing opera classics with an accompanying pianist. The performed show makes the experience so unique and pleasant !!! I highly recommend this restaurant for people looking for new experience in Madrid !

La Favorita will appeal to those who enjoy the quality singing of opera close up and personal (think clinking glasses with the singers during the drinking song from La Traviata for example). For our party it was a fantastic experience. We ate and drank like Bacchus himself, and as for the piano playing and the singing we had a night... More

This place is famous for ist singing waiters. Well, we had a horrible starter, some Kind of chciekn salad in pineapple, 1950's style, followed by bloody raost Beef and fuish in Gorgonzola Sauce with no side dishes at all, a brownish dump of somthing as a desert and when we had finished ( or left it nfinished) we still had... Entertaining place, with waiters who sing famous opera arias with accompanying pianist. The food is correct. The cook forgot something in the plate and he came fast to correct it, in a very nice way. Very recommandable if you are looking for something different.

I took my sister and nephew here for dinner and it was great seeing their faces when the first waitress burst into song as I hadn't told them about the theme. Given the opera theme the decor becomes understandable otherwise it looks a bit like a high end restaurant in the 70s. The menu was confusing, we couldn't tell which... More

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
