A friend recommended me this place. I took my American family and they loved it. Service is impecable, food is perfect( no matter what: fish or meat), and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend this restaurant. My family said it was the best meal they had in the whole trip.

Great restaurant with fabulous food. My favorite dish was mushrooms stuffed with fois (Colmenillas Rellenas de Foie). Make a reservation in advance as it might get busy.

Paraguas came highly recommended by a dear friend who resides in Madrid. It did not disappoint! There are a number of dining rooms within the establshment- all different but with perfect dimensions - you feel accompanied but never over-crowded. The food and service were impeccable. The place filled up completely with well-heeled "Madrilenos' enjoying their lunch. We enjoyed the atmosphere... More

I must say that I was worried when I made the booking for this restaurant as I read negative comments for the service.... We went earlier to our booking time to the restaurant and in 2 minutes we were seated and all our service was handled by Mateo(sommelier). What a knowledgeable person, what a service! We will go again just to... More

I've been there twice. Service and produce top tier. Clearly recommend the "Verdinas" and "Colmenillas" as entrees! Wonderful experience and hope to be back soon

My wife and I went to have dinner on our first night in Madrid. This was a recommendation of a colleague on mine who lived in Madrid for a couple of years. The reservation was at 20:00 and we arrived 10 minutes early, very english. They made us wait for 20 minutes until they fixed everything, while we saw part... More

I had a great night here. Everything seemed to be right. Great atmosphere, excellent service and the food could not have been better. We loved this place. Second time here and even better. Eur 160 for three courses with wine and water. Definitely recommend for a great meal.

Arguably the best restaurant in town, my expectations were high and it didn't disappoint me. Excellent seafood and dishes from Northern Spain. Try the superb Pixin (monkfish) and the Merluza (haddock)

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
