... history and culture of Sherry as well as Madrid. This is an old school place. They serve sherry and a few tapas, chalking your bill on the bar the way it used to be done, and still is in places like this. Bar staff...More

Visited with group of friends. After ordering considerable drinks we sat down and unfortunately a notice about not taking photos was not seen. The barman shouted at us and told us not to behave like children. The average age in the group was 50+ needless...More

A great place for sherry, like going back to the 1930's. Excellent sherry, bar staff not very talkative. House rules - no smoking, no photography, no tipping, no spitting and no stroking the cat. Great.

Found this bar originally by chance - and now going back all the time. It is an authentic place where they serve sherry - no beer or wine or anything else (other than few snacks). Tips are not accepted and the bar seems to be...More

We popped in here on our way to a flamenco night. Lovely atmosphere and nice though reserved staff. Definitely worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere and ambiance....

We were staying nearby and the family were having a siesta at the hotel. I wanted to visit some old sherry bars and this fell pretty high on everyone's list. Wary of the reviews advising of grumpy bartenders I ventured in. I had a great...More

I only started drinking 'proper' sherry about 2 years ago, with Manzanillla being my firm favourite. I had heard about this place even before that and thought it sounded interesting, but now as a sherry lover, and despite only spending one day in Madrid as...More

This is a tapas bar that specializes in sherry. Looked like they have very wide variety of sherry. Ordered smoked tuna and a couple of glasses of sherry. Nice atmosphere. Felt like I was inside an old cask. They speak no English so you must...More

Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once
home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de
Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The
neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich
heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes
from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to
them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas
receives a fair amount of spillover from the center —
