La Giralda is a good typical Spanish restaurant and Tapas bar in the best area of Madrid. It has very local and authentic clientele mixed with some of the wealthy expats living in the area. The restaurant has two distinctive areas - the main restaurant and the lively Bar and tapas area. Wide choice of typical Spanish dishes made from... More

A nice restaurant with bustling tapas bar in the Salamanca neighborhood. Bartenders are happy to pour you a draft beer or slice off some jamon for you to enjoy.

This restaurant (and another in the Chamberi zone) serves traditional well made Spanish and Andalusian food. The front part is more of a tapas bar, but with round table seating available and the back part is a restaurant. There are "specials of the day" written on the black board and a tapas menu in the front part. Half rations of... More

Great traditional Spanish place. There experience starts in the bar -- super classic design and absolutely stylish. They have an incredible selection of Sherry (naturally) and the barmen was very knowledgeable as he guiding us through a spontaneous tasting. We took with generous portions of Pata Negra. The rest of the evening was just as pleasant with great food and... More

La Giralda offers a culinary excursion to the south of Spain, without the bother of the trip. Fabulous coquinas, tiny fried squid, beet salad, tomato, onion and tuna salad, and bites of battered and fried sand shark--all superb. We ate at the high tops, but a proper dining room is also available. Reservations are advised.

The gazpacho was a taste bomb. A recommendation. The smal burgers with veal and pork were also very good. Try it! The waiters are very helpful and friendly.

Excellent food in pleasant and comfy ambiance. You can choose to have some tapas at the bar, served with ice cold Heineken beer or dry Manzanilla, or to dine formally in the restaurant. Every choice will be a success. We had almejas, Salmorejo, typical Pescadito Frito and andalusian-style Paella. Wonderfull! Prices are fair, service however sometimes a bit slow. A... More

I'm a recurrent client. For me it's the best Andalusian restaurant in Madrid Everything is excellent, but tortillita camarones are second to nothing in Madrid (you can only find something similar in Cádiz) and rice with lobster is the best of Madrid. Looking forward to repeat soon Service is simply perfect

A colleague took me there to try the adobo (fried fish) and the salad with tuna. Excellent. The atmosphere is great, nice decoration and great selection of gins, whiskeys, wines. Waiters are very friendly and professional.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
