Went in for early breakfast and waiter was not having a good morning. He did not even look at us and there was no one else in the place. When we asked him for help he gave us some attitude. He must have thought we...More

This is a great spot for what they specialize in. Stick to the bocadillos, croquetas, tortillas, and other such staples. They have an extensive menu because they are on the main drag so they throw the net out. If you order a pizza from here...More

Skip this place. Overpriced tourist trap. Cold churros. Surly, unfriendly service, manly from disgruntled middle aged men who need a shave. All with the enthusiasm of football fans whose team just lost. Typically, the floor is piled with trash around the edges. Do yourself a...More

Sadly this is yet another tourist trap selling overpriced, poor quality food. There are 2 entrances. One opposite Atocha station and the other near the Reina Sofia art gallery. We only had coffees with purros and chocolate. The coffee was the worst we had in...More

Do not hesitate to have some tapas opposite Atocha railway station. This an average bar, quite known though. The terrace is somewhat noisy because of the traffic. The food is average as well but gives the client an overall view on typical Spanish tapas. The...More

In April 2017, I stayed in the "60 Balconies Urban Stay" apartments, which was opposite the Atocha hub metro station (the metro station is back-to-back to the regional "Atocha-Cercanias" (Cercanias = Commuter), as well as very near the Sofia Reina Museum. This is also a...More

Seems like a good spot to stop in on the way home for a beer and some late night munchies. The calamari baguette seemed to be the most popular.

Was in Madrid and found El Brilante. So glad I did. Lunch counter style dining. Fast service. Excellent food. The calamari was stupid off the charts. So good. A real local hangout. English is spoken. I think I ate there three times in a week.

Great fast service on a very busy day. Gruff, but interesting and efficient server. Must try the calamari sandwich! one is big enough for two. Delicious!

Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard
is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The
world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the
Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and
culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On
weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free
after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue
of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de
