First, let me say that I am not familiar with sushi dishes. Our friends ordered for the five of us to share. The dishes were beautifully presented and I found to be very appetizing. However, at the end of the meal, I found the bill to be much higher than expected and somewhat feeling the need to have lunch somewhere.... More

This restaurant is wonderfully decorated and the staff was helpful and polite. That being said, whoever owns this restaurant spent time and effort on the decoration but not on the quality of the menu. My husband is half Japanese and so we have sushi often. This is supposed to be a sushi restaurant, but it only offered about five rolls.... More

My wife and I decided to go outside the tapas sphere for dinner and grab some Japanese. Having reviewed options on TA this seemed the closest to us and the most positive. Food was great, and the owner Alberto who spoke English was awesome. The sushi was amazingly fresh and all dishes we had from the miso to the temakis,... More

We were the first to arrive (just after opening time 8.30pm) and had personal service from very competent waiters who spoke excellent English. We splashed out on the big menu (40€ per person, minimum 2 people), which with a total of three beers and two bottles of water came to a fairly hefty bill in the end. Didn't regret it... More

If you've ever tried to find quality sushi in Madrid that matches the cost of other Spanish restaurants, you're probably still looking. Yes 19 Sushi Bar costs more but having tried many other places, I can say it is worth it. Today I had a beautiful bowl of salmon sashimi on a bed of ice. The sashimi just melted in... More

We ordered to take away. Sushis are good but not extraordinary. For two people it costed almost 70€! For 10-15 pieces per person. Too bad

The sushi is really great and they have the great top quality ingredients: toro (fatty tuna), soft-shell crab, ... The flavors were authentic Japanese, the preparation delicate and careful (all around the same thickness of rice), good service. All excellent, but just a tad pricey...

Great quality, amazing staff and fast lunch service. Our office is very close so we have made this our lunch go to place. The people who work there are particularly nice and flexible.

It was a great experience, excellent service, great food, good wines and beautiful atmosphere. The waiters were helpful, nice and recommended really good dishes. We are a couple that eats lots of sushi, and have experience with sushi restaurants, we were very happy with the quality and the service of this restaurant, especially knowing Madrid isn't a big city for... Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
