This is one of the least expensive sushi places in the Retiro area. They have some special makis that all all nice. And with the price you pay, you will leave the place happy. Outside the place looks cheap but inside the restaurant is surprisingly nice. I live in the area and eat here often.

Definitely choose the Calle Serrano Sushi Shop over the Calle Genova one. I went to the cramped dining room at the Genova one first, and there, was treated contemptuously for not understanding their take-out/dine-in ordering process. Then, it took 20 minutes for my order to arrive. I would never have recommended Sushi Shop if I hadn't gone to the Calle... More

After almost six years of living in Madrid, Sushi Shop still stands as a great destination for sushi lovers. Though French in origin, its many locations around the world attest to its quality. In Madrid, the Serrano outlet is especially popular among locals and tourists alike, and, in my opinion, offers the best food, service and overall sushi experience. Whether... More

Quick lunch with a friend near her office. Ended up taking almost two hours. My friend was undecided on what to order and it took her 3 visits from the waiter to decide. So far, no fault on the restaurant. The problem was that it took between 10 to 15 minutes from visit to visit! Also, there was a mistake... More

The place is nice. Service is very friendly and the menu has a lot of different options. Fish is fresh, and sushi is good. Try it.

We took the prepared plate away for lunch for only 11,90 per plate and it was very complete: 3 mini bottles of soya sauce, napkins, chop sticks, extra salad included, nice paper bag. All top quality

Went to Sushi Shop whilst on a business trip and after it was recommended by my hotel. The menu is quite diverse and portions are of very good sizes. Quality of the food was good, my only criticism would be about the wasabi that was served in the strangest way on the plate and not easy to extract to put... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
