We have eaten here many times at lunchtime. You can grab tapas in the bar or dine more formally in the restaurant where they have a good set menu as well as a varied a la carte. Good quality food and wine at reasonable prices

We found this place while wandering through the streets of Madrid. It was mid-afternoon and we were craving tapas, and the restaurante was situated just off the main drag (Calle de Alcalá). As with many of our afternoon meals we indulged in the local jamon y manchego. Add a little bread and olive oil and you have a good meal.... More

I understand exactly the previous "Don't Stop" review as that was our initial impression. We walked in off the street asking for a meal so naturally expected to be shown through to the restaurant out the back, instead we were gruffly offered a bar table. We'd done enough walking for one day so decided to persevere and ordered two steak... More

Grumpy staff who don't want to oblige, great shame.although a location in a perfect position, the staff are not interested in serving. Didn't stop for full meal and the drinks were of decent size did not feel welcome and felt very uncomfortable

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
