We found this restaurant on trip advisor but was sadly disappointed. The pro's: The staff were friendly Potato croquettes Con's: Food quality on the whole Lamb! Don't choose this! There was no atmosphere whatsoever and the place is really dated.

Just popped in for a quick drink on a hot afternoon. Now we are on our third drink. Why? Every time we order a drink Free Tapas Comes. Total cost €20. Fabulous highly recommended.

Walked by and looked it up on trip advisor. Rated way too high. Small room with zero atmosphere. Paella was just ok. Croquette tasty but nothing special. Disappointing.

A great small bar and restaurant that was established in 1952. Lovely staff, owner and ambiance! Felt like I was in a neighbourhood bar! Must come if in Madrid! The food, wine and even the bathrooms are great!! Lovely house wine and a complementary tapas when we sat down made it memorable.

We had ordered 2 Iberian ham as a starter and they just didn't turn up at all, there is very poor translation between the waiter and the customer. In our case the waiter was more interested in flirting and chatting up and bring free shots to 3 stunning Italian girls than getting our food. The food when it did arrive... More

Small restaurant in central madrid offering decent inexpensive food. Do not expect refined dining but atmosphere is welcome and the waiters very helpful. A good eat without breaking the bank.

The casa bar area looked very nice, but two-three tall bar stool tables in the front were occupied. We were escorted to the back, which would represent Anton's living room as this is his casa. The menu we were presented was a package of starter+main meal (choices to share and individual dishes) that included dessert or coffee and a bottle... More

They're already overpriced & charge you more on the English menu. Skip at all costs. And definitely don't ask for the English menu.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
