This place was a real find. Incredible value on the Menu Del Dia (including a separate veggie one) - 3 courses plus bread and a glass of wine for around e10! The place was packed - which is always a good sign! Good food in a pleasant well decorated space - really enjoyed it and will go back when in... More

My wife and I were looking for some authentic food at a fair price. For starters we had a delicious mushroom risotto and very tasty potatoe, chick pea ,spinach and feta soup. For mains we had a beef & capsicum casserole and chicken legs. It was lunch so we only had water to drink. Total cost was an amazing €22.

Menu del dia in Vivares is a reach meal. You have many choices for the first and second dishes usually of large portions, the desert, bread and drink are included. Reasonable price. The staff are very friendly, quick service. The place including bathroom are clean. The location is in the heart of Chueca. Open all day so you can still... More

We tried several meals, however none of those was especially tasty...just ordinary food and ordinary tastes...though it was quite cheap....the service was not proper...waiters were rather uninterested, dont speak english and couldnt give us some tips...all in all, just an average

I really enjoyed my meal here, they have a 3 course menu for 10.90 euros, which also comes with a drink. I think for this price you cannot find anything similar in the area. The only thing wich i hope they improve on, is the mash patatoes which were below average.

We happened on this restaurant while looking for vegetarian tapas for our family of 5. Service was great and accommodating. They humored us by letting us practice our Spanish and the food did not disappoint! We were famished and kept the tapas coming with some drinks. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the bill was. We were so pleased... More

This place came highly recommended by a local and sure enough it exceeded my expectations. Not only does this place serves affordable yet delicious set menus coupled with good cocktails, but it has a bustling and vibrant atmosphere that lasts throughout the night. The waiter even took the time to explain each items on menu as it was all written... More

Very reasonably priced 3 course menu - loads of choices & added extras - bread & drinks. Good busy service & atmosphere at the back of the restaurant. Great to find a separate vegetarian menu - an added bonus making it easier for veggies like me!

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
