Quite difficult to find. Waiters not very friendly or helpful. Food was good. We had a flank steak for 2 which was only 35 Euro and I could not fault the steak nor accompaniments. The menu is a little limited though and I expected to find a selection of steak cuts on the menu. When it came to paying the... More

I stopped right as they opened (actually before, but they let me in) and got treated very well. I ordered tuna that was perfectly done with delicious sauces. The price is a little high if your a budget traveler, but was a worthwhile meal for sure

After my two daughters and I had eaten in the really touristy places around Plaza Major and Plaza Santa Ana we decided to eat in the area we were staying in, La Latina. This really is the up and coming area in Madrid for night life. we picked Camoati Restaurant as it had good reviews everywhere. We were not disappointed.... More

I was intrigued by the TA comments about this place and wanted go check what it was like. Well I loved it. Friendly staff who are smiling and helpful with their recommendations. We had the salmon tartare with mango and chive yum and the sirloin steak with a cepes and cream sauce and foie gras Very Tasty The bill was... More

My wife and I stumbled upon this unique restaurant after being turned down by another but we couldn't have been more pleased. The inside of the restaurant is well decorated and has plenty to look at while you are enjoying your meal. I had a meat empanada that was so delicious and for a main dish a steak for two... More

Really lovely restaurant. A bit of the beaten path but definitely worth the short walk since it is so much better than the touristy restaurants in calle mayor. Good steaks but also very Nice vegetatian pasta's! I would definitely recommend going there!

We ate early (after 8:30, but early for Madrid) and it was almost empty, though it filled up completely on a Wednesday night. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, the wine was good. The flank steak was huge, but more importantly, done just as I wanted it and very tasty. It's kind of funky, but... More

We came here three evenings in the row. The first night we came at midnite and they opened the kitchen for us and served us a couple of starters. Exellent! So now we had to come back the next day and continue the tasting of starters; dish after dish took us by surprise- pure happiness! The next nite we came... More

The atmosphere is super relaxed and the decorations are unique. My 15 yo daughter said they were cool - and that's something. The food is really simple and yet delicious. My wife and I had the large plank steak and although we loved it we couldn't finish it.

Description
Established in 2007, Camoati is a young vibrant owner-run Argentinian Bistro in the heart of Madrid's "Los Austrias". Since opening we have quickly become the calm and relaxed place where the locals enjoy their lunches, dinners or just simply a tea or a coffee with family & friends. Far from being a typical Argentine Parrilla (Steak House), we offer cocktails, tea & cakes, tapas, home made pastas, fish and of course, great steaks. Our most popular dishes include Steak Tartare, Red Tuna Tataki, Sirloin Steak Rossini (shitake cream sauce & foie gras) and Argentina's most popular cut, the Thin Skirt (entraña de ternera). The early bird offer (20% discount for dinner at 20hr) is becoming very popular among our foreign customers. Also, with a selection of board games such as chess, monopoly and backgammon , our tea time has gained many new fans. Camoati is liking being at home with friends.

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
