Didn't meet our expentations. Expensive, small portion, small menu and half of the menu was sold out. Although the atmosphere was cosy and the service was charming.

Ordered the artichokes with foie, some artichokes were not warm, others were hot. Had octopus, that was not bad, but small. Iberian pork was good, but fries at bottom were not hot, sitting in pool of oil. Definitely not the best meal in Madrid.

I friend recommended this restaurant and he was so right. Charming, family run establishment with delicious food and good location near the opera and royal palace. If you weren't looking for the address, it would be easy to overlook. We shared the shrimp and mushroom...More

This is a family run small restaurant with about 6-8 tables. We found it through AFAR, and was pleasantly surprised. Tuna tartar is especially recommended! Although the restaurant is so small that I had to move me chair when people needed to use the bathroom,...More

What makes this place good is the food and the intimacy of the setting - what makes it great is that you can come back after five years' absence and get a handshake and a kiss on both cheeks. Fresh roasted artichokes with a foie...More

The special of the day - artichoke with fois gras sauce. Heaven. Rest was good. Nice atmosphere. Very small - just 6 tables. English was not a problem. Very nice.

This was hands-down the most amazing meal we had while visiting Madrid. We started with grilled asparagus, followed prawn risotto, then tuna tartare, and finally, fish cheek. We even had room for a little dessert and tried the cheesecake with vanilla cream sauce. Everything was...More

Evening tapas at its best, small, cheerful, family run cafe serving traditional tapas. Friendly welcome, we were taken up to the upper floor, just room for about six small tables. The dishes of the day are hand written in small note books, read out to...More

I found this place thanks to the recommendation of my hotel receptionist. It is 5' foot by the palacio real. It is 41sqm: you must book in advance! It is open since 1987, family run, i was alone but thanks to the waiter I never...More

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
performers, colorful lights, window shopping,
restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and
churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a
collection of plazas interconnected by a network of
side streets. Some of these side streets are wide
pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so
it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as
