The degustation menu of about 7/8 courses was an experience not to be missed. From the dip with potato "paper" to the dessert that looked like a scene from Finding Nemo! I consider myself a pretty sophisticated woman but this blew me away and my friend from Australia felt likewise and the staff were friendly not at all snooty or... More

A beautiful place in a historical building where a very talented young Chef and a seasoned competent staff will challenge your senses in a fantastic gastronomic trip. The food, the wines and the service were nothing but perfect. A night to remember. Strongly recommended!

Had a birthday dinner planned for me by my best friend and this meal was definitely worth turning 31 years old for!!You would think the whole set up of the restaurant would be all chi-chi and pretentious but like the restaurant and chef,it was the least bit of any! From the greeting at the door to the awesome awesome service... More

I waited a long time before I decided to write. I wanted to keep a distance and visit a few other famous restaurants in London, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Modena ... Now I can say that this is the best restaurant I've ever visited. No, I will not write more, as I prepare you for surprises that await you. Just make... More

This was an AMAZING experience from start to finish - real dining theatre! We took the seduction menu and loved every bite. The most memorable bits were eating the place card, and revelling over the fish bowl and the egg! Wow. This place is really a must. It was great to meet the mastermind in the kitchen too. He is... I will remember this for the rest of my life. It has it all - the nicest people, food that looks like art and taste is excellent. You even have an opportunity to meet the mastermind behind the exquisite menu. It may seem a bit pricey, but believe me - it's worth it every cent and then some.

I would recommend getting a cab to the restaurant as it's not that easy to find but when you do you need to ring the buzzer as if you were entering an apartment. As you enter you are greeted by very personable staff who take you to your table. From start to finish this can only be described as an... More

el club allard has it all, enjoyed the tasting menu and the gastronomic journey it led me on. food runs on the slightly saltier side, if not used to the local palette. fave dish: eggs with bread and pancetta served over a light potato cream sauce -- simple, delicious

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
