We had an evening meal here, we didn't do as much research as we should as the restaurant only offers tasting menus, there is a choice of three. One of our group had a few food aversions which the team worked around without any fuss but if we had reakised it was a taster menu we would have pre warned... More

Presentation and quality of the food was top notch, and service was impeccable as well. They make sure to serve the plates to you and your partner at the same time for all dishes. Can see that they deserve their 2 stars.

I arrived a bit skeptical as I had to give my Credit card info ahead of time, etc.. Also, and modesty aside, I have been fortunate to have eaten at numerous Michelin starred restaurants (Fat Duck, PerSe, French Laundry, Waterside Inn, La Gavroche, Bagatelle, Moulin de Mougins.. and many more) and to be honest felt that I was finished with... We ordered the 10-course menu as we're not big eater, esp when we're not used to late dining (restaurant opened at 9 pm). One-third of the courses were outstanding, including the 1st two & one of the main courses, which was pork. The rest were average, & one course, which was the featured "cupcake" was a disaster. The crust was... More

This two star Michelin Restaurant, whose chef is Maria Marte, is exceptional. The ambiance can only be described as 'old world,' timeless, and reserved doused with friendliness. The service was outstanding and we enjoyed every course; each was explained to us as it came out and we loved the flavour and the whimsy in the presentations. The Chef came around... More

Attended a business function here recently at which I delivered a key note speech. Great experience and not just because it has 2 Michelin stars. The set menu of multiple courses was delivered but not explained. Which is fine because I was in Spain and couldn't speak Spanish!! However, it did mean some of the dishes and instructions couldn't be... More

El Club Allard reminds me very much of a NYC dining experience. There is a very proper feel to the air as well as a strong sense of pride and professionalism. The environs are formal, spare, and spotless. Of all the places in which we dined during our Madrid stay, El Club Allard felt the most like a dining spot... More

This is an wonderful restaurant for a special night out. The restaurant is in a classified building without external signage but it is not difficult to find. The welcome is "warm" and smiling. The menu, which has changed since we last dined here is full of tasty dishes - it is fine dining. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The... More

Our first dinner experience at El Club Allard 2 years ago was very exciting. It was both a visual and a gourmet experience that we talked about for ages. For this trip. we booked a table months ahead as soon as we knew our dates for Madrid. Our anticipation was great. And we were not disappointed. It is still a... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
