Came here with a group of 18 people a few nights ago. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff was very eager to push a bunch of tables together and had us seated within minutes. The menu was very large, so we asked the waiter to order us some of their more popular dishes (4 plates of each) so... More

Be sure to get here early as it fills up quickly. Reservations are suggested. On our first visit, we had a seaweed spaghetti with mejillones (mussels), salad, and an appetizer of navillas (razor clams). All were superb. We especially liked the unusual spaghetti. On our second visit we couldn't resist the seaweed (algas) spaghetti, but also ordered the pulpo (octopus)... More

Walked in from the street , something we almost never do and for good reason. The place looks nice , good bread to start and decent wine. My wife had the grilled shrimps. I thought they were slightly over done but she liked it. I ordered the octopus dish. It was served literally drowned in oil and covered by hot... More

Our visit to the restaurant came about after talking to some locals from Santiago and asking them where they would eat if they were going out for dinner and didn't want tapas. Wasn't that easy to find as we took a couple of wrong turns in our search but well worth the effort. Decor and the general ambience was warm... More

Anuther key stop in the old part of town.Good variety of typical dishes, good for sharing(that is what most locals do,stop in each bar and have one drink and some tapas,so you go out and have dinner ''while'' you are going out).Very welcoming and good value.Cosy atmosphere.

We arrived late at Santiago de Compostela and decided to dine in a restaurant close to our hotel. And we went to Maria Castaña. As appetizer, cured cheese from Galicia. Then, rice seafood. Wines: Rias Baixas, Albariño and Monterrei Godello. Everything was fine and delicious. And the waitress was very efficient and friendly.

I don't think Santiago is a great place for restaurants generally - too many one time tourists passing through for that. However this place gets quite good reviews and we had some good food here. I particularly liked the rice with seafood. Cheese and salsa were also good and service was efficient.

A cool day in Spain calls for soup. The pilgrim soup is robust, warm and full of flavor. Try the tomato salad with goat cheese large portion- can be shared. The staff are friendly. The bread is nice with the soup. Try wine or a beer. Closes after lunch to prepare for dinner.
