Lovely food. Good menu and whilst pricey it was worth it. Steak very good and good setting too. As there are so many restaurants around I probably would not go back but only as I don't go to the city that often.

Traditional catalan kitchen in a small side street just off Born. Best navajas I have ever eaten and all fish dishes were excellent. Do listen to the waiter for specials of the day. Good value for money but the interior is quite hideous.

Very, very good food and very friendly, helpful service in an environment that is nicely designed and attractive while remaining low-key. Highly recommend it.

Located in quiet and not attractive street, just behind the railway station. We arrived there on 20:30, and for some time we were the only guests in the room, but after 9pm the place started to be busy, mostly with locals, looks like they really appreciate the place. The atmosphere in the room was informal and kind of family type.... More

I came to this restaurant with my family for lunch on the day of my birthday and it could not have been a better present! The food is of really good quality, fresh ingredients and everything prepared by owners of the place. We had starter, main and dessert, wine and cava and out of a party of 7 nobody complaint... I honestly thought that this place would be mega- busy given it's prominence on trip advisor. But instead we were the only 2 apart from one other party that arrived later. I have to say that we had a very good meal accompanied by an excellent Rioja, my wife had a egg with truffles & mushrooms to start followed by... More

Checked this out because it was near our hotel and the menu and prices seemed good - but I'm so glad we found it. Don't be put off by the un-flashy exterior. For us this will be a destination restaurant which will make a trip back to Barcelona more likely. Had a thoroughly great meal on the Thursday night (when... More

This place is located on a back street close to Franca train station. We stopped there for lunch. The menu was very innovative, and the quality of food was superb. Great sole fish anb beef capriccio. Unfortunately waiter (or may be it was chef) didn't speak English, and we didn't understand Spanish either. We saw him explaining the other people... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
