Very basic inside - absolutely no frills here! Ordered a variety of meals - hake, squid, sardines, mackerel, chips, artichoke and peppers. Bottles of Estrella went down well with the fish! Polished off every tasty morsel and waddled off into the distance! Not fine dining but very very tasty! Yum!

1st of all this place is not fine dining! The decor is dated and nothing in there is fancy! But if you want a real authentic experience of food in Barcelona this is a cool place. It was full of locals and we were the only tourists in there, it wasnt hard to get a table and we were served... More

You often have to wait outside for a table, and for a reason: the food is very good and the atmosphere is as local as you can get with musicians coming in to play and tables so close together that you not taking to the people next to you takes effort. We went with our 2 year old, he enjoyed... More

Went on a Saturday lunch time and the place was packed . Red mullet, salad, chips, a beer and a bottle of house wine for about 20 euros. There was a queue when I came out. Basic decor like a formica caff. Lottery sellers and a gypsy kings style duo came in during the course of the meal.

If you don't look for it, you can easily miss it. Great food, fast service. Fried baby squid were fantastic, also cutlefish and fried tomatoes. Everything with a bottle of beer. ;)

We arrived just after 8pm and the restaurant was already full (it opens at 8pm so get there early folks). After nearly an hour's wait, we were finally seated. No major complaints, there was a good atmosphere and the food was ok and very reasonably priced, but based on the reviews on here we'd expected better. Not good enough to... More

Can Mano is a very small establishment frequented by locals and tourists alike. It appears to be wildly popular owing to its extremely low prices and friendly attitude. A wholesome (if nothing special) seafood meal. Pros: - It is unbelievably cheap. We have paid about 32 euro for some grilled squid, fried sardines, fried triglia, a beaker of Sangria and... More

Friday night 9pm, queues outside this unpretentious little restaurant in side street. You have to go inside and give your name, or write it for them, and stand outside and wait to be called. The wait was ~1/2 hr, but well worth it. It was squashed, noisy, and the service amazingly fast and good-natured. Very fresh seafood, piping hot and delicious.... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
