Went there with a very large group and we had most of the back room of the restaurant. The beer and food were quite good. The service, however, was rather slow and we felt a bit forgotten. The place looks quite cool, I'd recommend it if you're struggling to find a place to accomodate lots of people!

Found this restaurant just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of La Ramblas. We were a group of 7 friends with different food preferences and intolerances and everyone managed to find something suitable to eat. I had the Beef burger and I have to say it was incredible. I wanted something a bit plain after having so many rich... More

We stumbled randomly across this place and ended up having a great experience. The food was good and the menu had a few surprises. The sea water beer was novel. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back!!!

Really tasty food, nice staff, one of the best places I visited in Barcelona. We came back the next day to eat there again and it was even better. Patatas braves are awesome too!

They don't have Negroni on the menu, so I explained the waitress how to mix one. She came back telling me that her boss will not make it with Hendricks gin. So I downgraded to a glass of red (which was below average) and had some nice dinner somewhere else.

We called in for a late lunch a couple of days ago and had the menu of the day. Each course was memorable along with great staff and a relaxed setting. Lovely lunch. Not used to late Spanish dining, which we understand, we discovered that this restaurant produces meals at an hour that suits us. Tonight we dined there again.... More

As a lover of satay, i found it hard to believe that Carmelitas Satay Grill does not serve satay as anyone knows it. The staff are friendly enough, but this place is a miss for slow service and tiny portions. Two skimpy skewers of nouvelle flavours are very pricey. We were hoping the chicken 'satay' would be off the map,... More

We entered randomly to Carmelitas, searching for a place to have dinner. Tapas are delicious and not expensive. We had Carmelitas empanadilla (recommendable!), patatas bravas, tortilla, and some beans with an egg (amazing). I would also recommend a chocolate brownie with pistachio ice-cream for dessert. The atmosphere is nice, we sat right next to the big window which was completely... More

This was yet another chance find for us, as we were looking for somewhere to have tapas on the way back to our hotel from the Cathedral and just happened to pass by and think it looked okay. We only wanted tapas as a light lunch, as we had a family evening meal planned, and everything we ordered was very... More

Lovely venue, in a rather busy part of town, but not overly congested. Venue was light and airy with high ceiling and industrial look. Great lighting and interesting décor. Service was OK, and tapas were excellent. I can reccomend the patatas bravas for their great sauce. Also the cod fritters. Menu was not huge but what they did have was... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
