Found this restaurant recommended in Timeout and had a really nice meal there on our last night in Barcelona. The waiters were very friendly and recommended some Catalan dishes and also a good Catalan red wine (photo). Tried the Capipotet starter which is beef cheek and pig trotter and for the main tried the Catalan specialty meatballs and cuttle fish... More

Very good meal with traditional catalan dishes, very good jamón, codfish and peus de pork. Good atmosphere, nice tiles at the walls and very good attention from the owner and the waiters. A must in Barcelona, definetely, I 'll go back there.

are that we were the first to arrive, at c. 19.30, and only two other tables were occupied by the time we left; also, the waiter took a little time to warm up! That said, the food we chose was very good, especially two starters 'of the day'; the recommended wine reasonably priced; and it was all smiles by the... More

This local neighborhood restaurant was recommended by friends from a prior visit to Barcelona. We all enjoyed our entrée choices with some reasonable priced local wines. Service was friendly and excellent . The duck and fish special entrees were particularly nice. Menu was very regional with a wide variety of dishes. Desserts were excellent. We understand that this restaurant is... More

We arrived late and luckily we found a free table. Very tasty dishes accompanied by good drinks. And the staff was very friendly at all times. I would recommend it.

We came here for lunch. There is a menue with several first and main dishes to choose from. The menue costs 21 € p.p. and includes a bottle of wine, sweets, and the coffee. some special main dishes cost a little supplement of 6 € (we went for these), but it is still worth every penny. A really nice place,... More

When in Barcelona, don't miss this place! you'll find true catalan cuisine in a very friendly environment. For sure it will be an unforgettable experience. Let advice by Pepe, the owner, or any of the very professional waiters. You will enjoy it.

I'm combining two reviews in one as we went back after being delighted with the tasty local cuisine in the first visit. The service was impeccable for us, probably due to the fact that the service crew recognising us for the second time in the week. Paella is done slightly different from ones I've tasted in Madrid and Seville and... More

Asked at our (local) Hotel for recommendation for some good paella and they suggested this place. It was early, so typical Spanish we were the first in. Couldn't decide on starters so the Lady in charge suggested half portions, which was the way we went. However, a half portion of snails in this Catalan Restaurant constituted 29 of the little... Headed in for a late dinner based on the reviews and was not disappointed! Friendly staff, a nice menu full of Catalan dishes and steak. The meals were cooked without fault and with plenty of flavour. Highly recommend if you want to avoid the tourist traps and enjoy a delightful meal.

This property was present and witnessed Barcelona's move from the late nineteenth century.
Ca L'Estevet is a part of the rich history of the city as a rallying point of the certain nuclei of Barcelona's society, which had its great moment from the formation and development of the ineffable "gauche divine". The reports of La Vanguardia filled its capacity at noon, and today there are two cultural center of reference, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and the "Centre de Cultura Contemporanea de Barcelona" (CCCB), as well as neighboring universities, while at night it still remains one of the most traditional meeting places.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
