6 of us visited at lunch and we enjoyed their Fideua in squid ink. It's the Catalan black Paella with super moist infused squid ink noodles. Their tangy refreshing Sangria is perfect for this hot day by the beach. Rice casserole with Lobster in Broth is another "must try" dish. We ate so much and ended with a perfect relaxing... More

Three times in the space of 24 hours I visited this restaurant and tried to get someone to serve me. I was ignored wvery time as I was on my own. This restaurant was recommended to me as the place to go for quality Spanish food. Very disappointing and rude of the waiters and the owner to ignore customers. My... More

I won't name other restaurants but I had paella 5 times during my trip in Spain and this was the best out of them. 2 of the other ones were too salty. 1 was not hot enough when served. 1 was simply bad. Went for lunch on a Sunday. Reservation was at 1pm and was seated by 1:10pm outside. The... More

Host team was rude from the second we walked in the door. Waiter was too busy to get us menus and kept forgetting our wine. We stayed because we heard it was the best Paella in town. It wasn't. Seafood was over cooked and rice was dry. Disappointing last meal before heading home.

We came to Barcelona to celebrate my husbands 50th and had dinner at Can Majo based on reviews read on here. The food was very fresh and delicious and the staff and service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Garlic prawns and Galician style octopus as warm starters both were very delicious. Valencian style paella with lobster was a good choice too. Staff was very attended and kind. Warm atmosphere experienced inside. Nice decoration enriched with nice paintings. Noise could be taken as an improvement area as it is in most of the restaurants.

Thanks to the reviews I found on trip advisor, it led us to Can Majo. The reviews promised really good paella and they did not let us down. We got there right when it opened and the tables were almost all filled up already. We ordered the first paella on the list which ended up being the most popular in the... More

We ate a good dorada a la plancha and very good tapas as appetizers. Service is very slow though and that is not very pleasant

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. The paella and artichoke leaves were delicious. Desserts were over the top delicious. most of the staff was friendly, and they did call a cab for us which was truly appreciated. It's a beautiful setting and offers good food, a great stop if you are down by the beach or port.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
