Very popular restaurant with a very spanish atmosphere, the tapas are mouth-watering (we tried 15-16 different kind of these) but pay attention to the prices, because some of them are very expensive. The staff is particular, at the beginning they were a quite rude, but...More

The food may be okay for tapas but the service is rude and uncomfortable seating since people were waiting behind the counter. Not worth the hype! The servers push you to order the food that they recommend ( which may be convenient to them to...More

This restaurant is a great option to eat in BCN. The quality of the food and the service are remarkable. It's a place to return, but due to the average price it can't be every week :)

This place is utterly overrated. There are a couple of tapas restaurants in Barcelona that I can recommend blind eye but this place is not one of them. First of all almost all of the food was dipped in salt. Everything and anything was salty....More

We ate here about 15 months ago as did our daughter, and we’re very impressed with the quality of the tapas and variety. The flavors and combinations of ingredients were well matched, and unique. This time we returned as a 4 person family group and...More

People raved about this place. The ambiance is cool if you sit at the counter, though you may feel pressured to leave by the crowds hanging over you. We sat in the back because we were 4 with a kid. The food was ok. They...More

We revisited Cal Pep for dinner and of course compared it to our last visit some full ten years ago. The food is great, we focused on seafood (tuna tartar, fried squid, octopus, big clams) and fried artichoke, and were not disappointed. We came at...More

We had tuna tatare, clams, octopus with chick peas and fried artichoke. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Love the queuing and just watching the chef preparing all the dishes. Staffs were warm and funny to be exact!

The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few

Cal Pep offers a fresh and bright culinary experience with easy and quick preparations. Our restaurant concept grew from the idea of sharing the dishes, their tastes and flavours, in a 'tapas'-style. Faithful to this style, Pep invites us to enjoy light, exquisite and extremely varied dishes. Cal Pep is authentic Mediterranean cuisine, reflecting Pep's personal style and incorporating seasonal ingredients. You will enjoy fish, shellfish and fresh produce, all prepared with Pep's originality and flair. Welcome and happy dining! For a truly great tapas place, sit at the bar at old-school Cal Pep, Thomas Keller's vote for the best food in Europe. -- The Guardian The 'Tapas Institution' of Barcelona. There is no shtick here apart from superbly fresh seafood, served simply and on plates designed for sharing. -- The Telegraph
