We first visited in 2004 and over numerous visits to Barcelona we're always drawn back to the Cafe de L'Opera. It sits opposite the Gran Teatre del Liceu on the Ramblas, probably the most famous street in Barcelona. When the theatre is open you'll find...More

Promised my grandsons the best churros and chocolate (churros y chocolate - name of my son's Spanish text book) ever. They were not disappointed. Located on LA Rambla across from the opera. Don't miss....!

Lovely small place to eat, with really friendly staff (which taught us some Spanish). We had the churros with hot chocolate and a crema catalana which was awesome! They had some other cakes and desserts in the display which I would loved to have tried....More

Always drop in here when visiting Barcelona. Coffee is good, as it is almost everywhere in Spain, but it is the atmosphere of this place that makes it so charming. It is a great escape from the crowds on the Ramblas and an ideal place...More

For people who visit Barcelona every couple of years, we're treated like regulars! The waiters are fabulous and such fun - we don't speak Spanish, and they don't speak English but we manage to laugh a lot together! The drinks are voluminous and the cakes...More

We were incredibly jet lagged while on our search for some breakfast so seeing croissants made our decision easy. While the service was friendly and relatively prompt and the food was average, the price was extraordinary. We had 4 coffees, 2 juices and 4 croissants...More

We went straight here from the airport to meet others in our party coming from another location, we had all of our luggage with us and it was the day of the European football final so Barcelona was crazy busy but the people in the...More

I would usually avoid places like this on the tourist strip, La Rambla, but four of us had a few drinks and a meal here. The beer was good and not too pricey and the food was pretty good. The staff were very helpful and...More

We rested from our journey round Barcelona in this convenient kerb side café. We had cold drinks and patatas bravas. The pricing was not excessive for the Cafe's position in La Rambla.

La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry
riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard,
and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La
Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll
past impressive human statues and artists while others
take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at
one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic

There's no need to book, it's a cafe not a restaurant. Though they do serve tapas
