I've been twice to Gelida with a couple of friends. They offer a great variety of tapas and platillos that exceed by far the quality of most "regional" restaurants around. The legumes ("potaje") are delicious, the beef is okay and the tapas are served in reasonable portions. The waiter looked slightly drunk but he was kind and effective. Definitely a... More

I've been there just one time, but after the experience, I'm shure I will come back again. The place is the typical catalan pub, decorated with several pictures, t-shirts and main-page newspapers about Barça. My plan there was to have breakfast very early on a Saturday, at 7.30 am. When you order to the waiter, you may ask for their... More

If you're not a fluent Spanish speaker, don't come here!! Anti-tourism expressed continually. Only responses we got were slightly aggressive ones in Spanish and after 30 minutes they were so kind to give us an English menu. Food was a good price but not yummy at all. The waiter even made fun of us with other guests since we weren't... More

Amazing old school Catalan food in a very simple setting. Don't miss out on "The Elbow" - Codillo. Great "grumpy" service. A classic!

Traditional places. One of those places hard to find nowadays. I absolutely recommend that place if you want to feel a typical Catalan bar atmosphere. I work nearby and I use to go often. The food is as simple as good. Good service, good wine, popular place in the middle of the fashion Barcelona. I went there several times for... More

Traditional catalan local run restaurant. It serves a large variety of traditional dishes at a really affordable price. Excellent for a fast and good quality lunch.

You don't a get more authentic old school Catalan eating experience than this, ... or cheaper. Cap i Pota, Galtes de porc, Miel i Mato & trifásico did it for me. Probably the best snails in town too. The vino comes in a porró straight from the barrel and you have to ask for a glass if you don't want... More

Not a tourist spot as such. More locals eating and meeting and especially packed at lunch. We had a nice meal of tapas and some house wine. So, not fine dining but if you don't mind football on the tv a great spot to relax and soak up the atmosphere.

Good and Catalan cuisine. Nice people, if you are looking for a fancy place, this is not your right choice, but if you are looking for good and Catalan food run by Catalan people, this is it. Enjoy it!

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
