even if you allready had breakfast and you don't feel that hungry, even then you shouldn't miss baluard. great breds, cakes, croissants, salads and so on. near la pedrera, so instead of going for (bad) tapas on passeo de gracia go try baluard.

We visited this bakery ones. The bread is average, the pizza was nice, the cannolo siciliano was horribly soggy, probably frozen and not home made. Shame as we were expecting more.. not going back.

Stopped in here for lunch and coffee, more by accident than anything else, but it turned out great! Freshly baked bread, pastries, sandwiches and decent coffee. Highly recommended for a stop between Gaudi sites.

I stood in line and when it was my turn to order, I couldn't help myself, I bought 3 loaves of bread for our picnic! All of them were excellent with our ham and cheese!

I guess Baulard is the bakery I loved the most in Barcelona and Madrid. First, thanks to GPS we have been to their place which only serves take away food. Since no one can speak English, we had to wait for someone to come and answer our questions. She gave us a card with the address of this Baulard on... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
