Casa Jacinta - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! If you come across an article in The Guardian about the best tapas in Barcelona and think Casa Jacinta looks like a good bet please do more research and avoid this place! Unfortunately my boyfriend and I made...More

After reading excellent reviews on the Guardian we went here for our second night in Barcelona. What a disappointment. The calamari tasted like it was cooked from frozen in old dirty oil. The rest was no better. Service is poor and can only presume it...More

I read a positive review in the Guardian newspaper and it was everything I expected. The cafe is tiny and right opposite the mercat which is being renovated. The food was lovely, especially the Spanish omelette. We had 4 tapas dishes, 4 beers and it...More

This was possibly the worst dining experience of my life. Please avoid this place. The tapas is horrendous and the service about the same. Unfortunately Casa Jacinta is under new ownership and it no longer deserves the positive rating previously enjoyed. The Tapas is appalling.

Good things come in small packages. Couldn't stop eating. The meatballs were amazing, and the empanadas melt in the mouth. Definitely recommended

This place was not worth the trip. I heard good things via the Guardian and Tripadvisor but this wasn't the same restaurant. Skip and try something else.

Looking at it you would think this place was just another place that tourists wouldn't be attracted to. We only ended up there after getting a recommendation. When I fist saw it I really wasn't sure but from the moment we sat down we were...More

Well worth the minor detour off the beaten track. Metro nearby. Went back the next day. Meatballs and the paralysis bravado were particularly delicious.

Unpretentious, basic, but really really good. Bottled beers for a Euro each, best tapas I've tasted in Barcelona by some way and we have tried some on this break. Go for the local bottled beer, Spanish omelette, ham croquettes, chicken wings, but most of all...More

We trailed to this slightly out of the way Tapas bar after reading a glowing report in the Guardian blog on 10 best tapas bars. Unfortunately it's changed hands and now has a very limited and basic menu and very few wines. There's a good...More

El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this
gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an
excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic
spots in the entire city. A sense of humble
authenticity protrudes from the many independent
record stores, second hand shops, and student bars
that seem to light up the streets day and night. The
rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day
