I went to this restaurant with my 10 year old son. We both enjoyed the high quality meat and the friendly atmosphere in the restaurant. It felt like our own barbeque-party! We had no room for dessert, but the waiter sent some japonese dessert with us in a box at no charge. Lovely gesture, great service. Try this restaurant!

Well fed with soup, barbecue Japanese beef and vegetable soup. Very merry with sake and plum wine. This is a small restaurant. Each table has its own charcoal grill pit. Food is great. Lots of fun.

We had the 66 Euro menu. All the courses were very tasty. The Katsu , the gyozas, the meats were yummy. The only complain was that all of us were still hungry after the meal as the servings were very small. They should add another course of rice with something in the end as a filler. The restaurant is conveniently... More

I came here for dinner in December 2016 - it was delicious! The restaurant is hidden on a quiet street just off La Rambla. We had so much fun cooking our own meat and it was all so tasty! Will definitely return the next time I'm in Barcelona.

Cozy Japanese BBq with super friendly servers. Must book to ensure a table. Reco for 60€ menu aprox. Only weakness is the amount of smoke and clothes smell afterwards...

I was amaized to have a Japanese BBQ in Barcelona and announcing they have A5 beef from Japan (probably one of the best meats in the world). Place is great (with jazz music in the background to offer a modern taste to the place, we loved it). Menus are well proposed (39€ and 69€ per person without drinks). So you... More

We had a set Christmas meny. Especially the fried pork was very tasty. Guests make some of the cooking themselves supervised by nice staff. Enjoyed trying different sakes, even if not so much to our tastes. (They have of course also western beverages.) the surroundings are not very elegant and you should book in advance and be let in through... More

It's the second time I go to Carlota: I never get discontented. It is a unique experience of flavors, topped by the A5 meat and the friendliness of all the staff. I recommend it to 100% if you want to eat well and have a unique experience

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
