Very nice dishes, served in an expensive setting. Value is appropriate to the price. Seems to be a place which, at lunchtime anyway, is focused on the business lunch set. Had a very nice winter soup, followed by an interesting hamburguesa. I think the pollo / berenjena dish that my wife had was the best item on our table. Service... More

It had been some time since my last visit which was so pleasant sadly this time all had changed. Thursday night an empty restaurant. We ordered Lamb--not available--we ordered Pork 1 portion only available. 6 very small undercooked Prawns an outrageous E 20-one of the nights specials !!!!! A local wine E 27. Apple tart that was requested to be... More

Blau is an excellent restaurant located in the center of Barcelona (in Eixample), where you can enjoy everyday with a fantastic menu for lunch (I tasted an octopus salad, steak tartar and a tarte tatin with two wine cups) in a formal atmosphere. The decoration is fantastic and the photos are so beautiful. I think that is a very good... More

Been there twice and both times the food we had was incredible tasty. Dishes are not large, but perfectly balanced in flavors and quantities to have a satisfying meal for all your senses. We had the white house wine and octopus with mashed potatoes and tuna tartar, and the most incredible green veggie soup. The service is perfect - nothing... More

We stumbled in here late on our first night in Barcelona and the place was very quiet. The waitress was really attentive and the food was superb! The patatas bravas were absolutely delicious as were the gambas. We also had croquettes which were very fresh and a type of burger with foie that wasn't to my taste. Overall the chef... More

Description
Blau BCN is in the Eixample district in Barcelona and comes fresh from the success of its sister restaurant BLAU de Begur. The chef, Marc Roca, offers excellent Catalan cuisine in this fashionable eatery. The décor at Blau BCN is simple but welcoming, inspired by the blue seas of the nearby Costa Brava. The contemporary dining room is decorated with blue walls and black and white photos, while the Catalan menu focuses on treating ingredients with the care they deserve to maximise flavour while losing none of their intensity. Specialities include poached egg with wild mushrooms, beef entrecote cooked in salt or scallops with a Catalan shrimp stew. Dining at Blau BCN is undoubtedly a very special experience.

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
