These tapas were the best that we had while we visited Barcelona. The staff was a little overwhelmed but the tapas we had were well worth the wait, we just took that extra time to enjoy some sangria. There wasn't a bad tapa in the house!

Great beef cheek tapas. don't miss it. if you like oxtail... give theirs a go as they mix it up with some onions and vege and livens an otherwise heavy tasting dish. however, the stuffed squid could be a trifle anti-climatic. looks good but when you plunge in, it lacks the wow factor. generally good tapas but we couldn't help... Perfection! Everything that comes out of the kitchen at Tapeo is delicious. The staff are very friendly and our waiter was also funny. There is a really great vibe at this place. We tried a mix of things on the menu and everything was amazing- fresh and tasty. The iber-burger is an absolute must, along with their daily specials- we... More

Tapas bars a little more sophisticated than average. Food quality good, price a little expensive, but not much above the average of other tapas bars (which are definitely not cheap!). The staff is fair and the quality of food is good.

Just an absolute joy - from the moment we entered we enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff, the drinks and the best tapas ever! Simply Divine - we chose and ate loads of tapas with excellent steering from the wonderful head chef as we sat just in the corner by the kitchen. I can't recommend it enough. We still dream of... this place was recommended to us by our hotel receptionist and we were definitely not disappointed. The place is relatively small so it is advisable to book beforehand or else you'd have to wait - however once you get a table you'll definitely be rewarded with great tapas style food, cooked right next to you in the small but efficient... super busy place, make sure you get there early. we were seated immediately when we got there just before 8pm. based on other TA reviews, we ordered honey glazed aubergines, patatas brava, potato bomb and pork ribs and of course, the sangria. Super yummylicious. We especially love the pork ribs and potato bombs. bill came up to be approx 40... More

I booked this in advance of our weekend in barcelona after seeing the tripadvisor reviews. The food was trully amazing. We ordered honey glazed aubergines, braised beef cheeks, fried eggs with Iberica, squid ink pasta + sangria. We only ordered from their main menu but would have loved to try some from their specials. Would happily recommend it.

We got a recommendation of this restaurant, and when we finally got there (is quite difficult to find!) we where blown away. This is a favourite among the locals, and it's quite small inside. It's like sitting in the kitchen. The food was excellent, and the wine was fantastic. A very nice experience. PS: Reservation is mandatory!

My husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch, seeing that it was rather highly rated on TripAdvisor. Our expectations were not only met based on the reviews we had read, they were exceeded! We ordered far too much food, but enjoyed each dish so much we couldn't stop eating. The potatoes with spicy sauce may have been our favorite... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
