Best Tapas experience we had in Barcelona. We ordered the pork ribs, Iberian ham, grilled leek, and tuna and Sangria - Loved ALL of it.

This was our third time to visit this restaurant. We always plan on dining at Tapeo when we are in Barcelona. It never fails to disappoint. It is always just my husband and I and we love sitting at the bar. The tapas are made to order and extremely fresh. The tomato bread is a must as well as the... More

We had a wonderful meal at Tapeo. Myself and three other guests walked in (without a reservation, which I would NOT recommend) and were promptly seated at a hightop table at the front of the restaurant. I was extremely happy with the quality/quantity of food as well as the pricing. Each couple ordered about 4-5 tapas to share, we specifically... More

We had a lovely time in Tapeo. Seatings at high tables, perfect wine and lovely bites. Its a Nice quiet place in a busy street. Tapas might even be better anywhere else but i really like the feeling of this place. Would go there again.

This place has tables and bar seating. I have been here 3 times and always have had creative, fresh and tasty food. Start with a glass of house wine and order 2 tapas each. Don't miss the asparagus tempura, heaven!

We literally stumbled across this tapas bar whilst cruising the gothic quarter - my husband wanted authentic but in the end we were taken with the menu outside and walked into a rather modern intimate bar. We were certainly rewarded - the food was exquisite and freshly made in the open kitchen - the staff friendly and welcoming- menus in... More

Everything we had was good but be prepared to spend a lot if you are at all hungry. Come to think of it, the people around us were each getting only 3 or 4 items - not nearly enough. And I'm a petite person who doesn't eat an enormous amount. Go for the presentation, taste and atmosphere and if you... More

Either before or after your Picasso Museum visit (e.g. while waiting on the timed ticket entry) - this is the place for Tapas. Everything was excellent but we had two standouts. The Calamari Catalana (stuffed squid and as others have mentioned) and the Torrija (Bread Pudding on the English menu) is like nothing you have had before and wonderful!

We had a fantastic lunch here - every dish we ordered was delicious, in particular the octopus, stuffed squid and mackerel. Prices were very reasonable (we paid €30 each with a bottle of wine between 4 including dessert and coffee). There aren't many big tables so if you're a group best to book in advance. Highly recommend!

After exiting the Picasso Museum, walking down the same strip, a hundred yards or so, we came across Tapeo and decided to give it a try. I remember I had read good things about it somewhere, so we decided to go for it. This place is heavily reservation based, and we obviously didn't have one, but since it was early... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
