Amazing atmosphere, day or night. lots to shopping and plent to see. Many souvenirs pop ups. Lots of food stalls and restaurants. love the ice cream shops and the Churros are to die for..!! We had a lovely time feeding the pigeons on the square. They would just come and eat out of your hands. Could do without silly little... More

Took more than one stroll along La Rambla, and it was ok for a stroll. A little surprised by the fact that when we walked it in the evening maybe about 8pm every couple of yards we were stopped by men asking if we 'wanted to visit a coffee shop' or just straight out 'do you want hash'. Didn't bother... More

While the tapas came tasty and the same price as was advertised the sangria was too expensive!!!! I could not believe the price of 1 glass was €12 while few gardens ahead it was only €6. Thats why there is no prices of drinks in the menu. But well I paid my fine to be a tourist. Rest of my... More

Let me start with the positive. My wife and I really enjoyed the Grilled Vegetable Tapas, the wine and the sangria. I thought they were overpriced with the glass of sangria at 11 euros (about $16.50) the Grilled Vegetable Tapas 19 euros (about $28.50) all excellent tasting. But the bill came to 40 euros (about $60) too much for a... More

We visited this restaurant on our last night in Barcelona. We sat inside which was a little cramped but the decor did make it feel very authentic. We ordered drinks, I had a beer, my wife had white sangria. The menu was very basic with no drinks listed either. We decided to go for the two tapas and paella for... More

Started by the waters edge and walked up. Started off with street performers, which were great, Followed by street stalls selling hand crafts then by restaurants. Amongst the restaurants were street hawkers which spoilt the atmosphere. To the right was Mercat da la Boqueria, well worth a visit and to the left was the gothic quarter again well worth a... More

Most shops were cheap tourist stores, but the further you go down, the better they get(and more expensive). I recommend the market which is about 1/2 way down the street.

Nice wide avenue through the heart of town. Attractive and lively with street performers Also a hotbed for pickpockets and thieves. Best thing to do is see it quickly and then veer off into Barri Gothic or El Born.

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
