Modern sophisticated decoration and an Impeccably uniformed waiter greet you as you enter this grand establishment. This is a busy restarurant due to its popularity and limited seating so you'll require a reservation, which I recommend you make two weeks in advance. It is a quite and elegant atmosphere restaurant, best described for fine dining, the service just like the... More

We had a very nice evening at Gaig. I can confirm the issues raised by other reviewers: the service has a certain attitude (nobody offered us to take our coats, for example), and the time between courses is very small, if you do not ask for a break which we had to do after going through 4 courses in barely... This is one of those restaurant where you'll never be disappointed. The food is always so good and interesting that is hard to stop loving it. The owner and Cheff is a great cook and his wife and the team are extraordinary. By the way, is spacious and quiet, something very hard to find today.

This restaurant is amazing. Extremely fresh products, an impeccable service. I like also very much the modern interior. They also have a restaurant in the Barcelona Airport, which has been nominated the best airport restaurant in the world.

Traditional Catalan cuisine with modern presentation. The food did not disappoint. Scallops were fresh and sweet. The cannelloni was amazing with the meat filling almost melting in one's mouth. The suckling pig with strawberries was one of the best suckling pig I ever had. What set Restaurant Gaig apart was the impeccable service staff and their attention to details! My... More

Overall, a very good dinner. Chef Carles Gaig, his wife and daughter were greeting their guests throughout the restaurant and one can see their passion for their food and warm hospitality. At its price (and its one-star accolade), the food was well-executed and the flavours were pronounced. We also made a point to ask the kitchen to tone down on... More

Very goog cuisine and top service makes this an ideal place for formal business meals or to please yourself occasionally. Note that the name is Restaurant Gaig and no longer Fonda Gaig since some years ago.

I cannot give Gaig a full five spots because it is not at the same level as LaSarte, to whom I just gave five. And maybe that's all I can say? When you do one star and you do two star, and both The Guide and the restaurant have it all correct, you can experience the distinction between the two.... More

While I am writing this review, I am having dinner at the restaurant. I am trying to reflect what I feel and how the food taste rift at the spot. I have chosen the selection menu which costs 68 euros and it's a reasonable price. When I eat, three things matter. Taste, plating and service. Taste wise, there is no... More

We decide to try this restaurant for the location and for the history and for the Michelin star. The restaurant is modern with an elegant style . The service is perfect. We choice a menu suggested from the chef of 6 course with a good bottle of local cava. The menu is equilibrated , all the dishes in the right... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
