We ate here on our last day and absolutely loved it! Location is great by the harbour. Staff were great and extremely helpful! Food quality was amazing - we both had different types of paella and loved it! Not the cheapest but would highly recommend!

This strip of restaurants is very attractive, but the food in La Gavina did not blow me away. The location is good, and the service OK, but this really is catering for the masses with no particular flare or individuality.

Overlooking Marina and yachts. Wonderful atmosphere with excellent quality of food and wines. Had a group of 20 and we all enjoyed there so much. Service of staff is superb. Worth visiting.

Nice restaurant in a nice location in the harbour. The sangria, the paella and the fish are all excellent, the staff is nice. Go there you will not be disappointed. Easy access by metro or from the rambla

We've checked the menu on our walk from the sea; well, due to in all restautarants around it was pretty the same, we've chose La Gavina - place look like having more tables for us to choose. And, have to sau, the location was only one good thing restaurant offered for us.. At first we've ordered Campari Spritz & paella... More

This restaurant is in a super location, right on the waterfront. The food is reasonable, but expensive for what it is. I guess you are paying for the location. You won't find too many locals eating here!!!

The location is very lovely, the food is amazing and the personnel is very kind, fast, very well organized, and they work as a team, making sure you get a top class experience. They know various languages, so is very easy to get along even if you don't know Spanish. We had a bottle of wine, paellas, calamari and octopus.... More

We walked down to the port on a beautiful sunny day and stopped to eat some paella on a restaurant facing the water. We had a nice glass of chilled Chardonnay and we tried a seafood paella and a chicken and pork paella. Both were the same basis and they added the diff toppings. Both were too oily and nothing... We ate lunch and dinner at La Gavina and were able to enjoy the view looking out at the harbor. We had the paella for dinner - it was very good! They have a nice wine selection and yummy desserts!

Maybe it was bad timing, it was after all 2.30 Sunday and the sun was shining. We felt very unwelcome, especially when we could see empty tables and were told to wait 20 minutes. We walked away rather disgruntled then realised all the restaurants were the same, everywhere was packed so we went back. At first this seemed really disappointing... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
