I was concerned about booking dinner given some of the reviews I had read but we were not disappointed. Service was ok and the food was excellent. Several people had the ravioli with the white truffle sauce and it was hot and creamy. The puttanesca was excellent and spicy but not excessively so.

Like many others, we had this restaurant recommended for a special birthday for our son studying abroad. We hosted nine people, with nine different entree choices that looked and tasted the same. The one redeeming aspect was that each dish came with a "tasting plate" that could be shared by others. With 5 college-aged males at the table, the quantity... More

My husband and I visted Bareclona in March and hosted dinner at Da Greco for our son and his friends who were studying in the city. The kids had eaten there before and loved the food. The chef/owner came to the table to personally take our order. Listed on the menu was a dish of pasta "surprise." I asked the... More

I don't see why people say it is so amazing. I ordered the salmon pasta with caviar and it was below average. Honestly, it lacks flavour and presentation. I read a review someone wrote that he/she would cook better pasta at home and I would have to agree. There is absolutely nothing tasty and special about the pasta. I would... More

Nondescript entrance requires ringing the bell and being granted entrance—as though being welcomed into a home. Owner operated with the wife taking care of the front and the husband and son-in-law in the kitchen. Take your time and enjoy the pace and food. Tasting dishes for those items you didn’t order and plenty of food for those you did. The... More

We were told this was a must in Barcelona, and it didn't disappoint. They brought an extra "to try" plate of each entree. A lot of food, and excellent. We did not know it was byob, which would have been nice, but prices for everything were very reasonable.

What a disappointment. I had heard so much about this restaurants from friends.. but by far did it live up to my expectations. First we had to wait about 45 minutes to order. We asked several times if we could order but apparently only 1 – 2 persons can take orders. After the wait we finally placed our order and... More

Testing menu is unbelievable and is the way to go if its you're first time there. It included 3 dishes of pasta, which you think would be overkill but it was all just so light, I really can't explain it, you just need to try for yourself. You need a reservation for sure, very busy spot. Only thing that was... More

To enter Da Greco you must ring a door bell and eventually someone opens the large wooden door with a brass hand attached to its center. You feel like you are entering a home. The menu is varied and the prices are very fair. At least three of the dishes we ordered came with additional portions on separate plates so... More

They squeezed us in, party of 5, when they opened at 8:30. We sat on the 3rd floor in the most beautiful room. The waitresses spoke English and were attentive. All of the dishes were amazing, except my rissotto was luke warm. It was tasty but would have been excellent, if hot. The bolognese lasagne, fruit de mar and shrimps... More

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
