First time when I visited Salamanca I was impressed with the food so decided on this trip that I will try different places, so I did. I tried two different seafood restaurants and was disappointed. So I took a taxi to revisit Salamanca and I am glad I did. I ordered the same dish and the quality was the same... More

For our last night in Barcelona, our hotel recommended Salamanca as a reasonable good fish restaurant. The setting was great, right on the beach. Our issue was that we could hardly hear ourselves talk. There were several parties, Saturday night, and for some reason the acoustics were such that we could hear ourselves speak to each other. We waited for... More

We spent 3 weeks in Spain and this restaurant is where we had our worst meal. The food itself wasn't bad, but it was clearly overpriced. We paid 32€/person for the "special" seafood paella (we were told that this restaurant had the best paella and wanted to taste the best); it was definitely not worth the price... The service was... We have been in Spain 10 days. This was our only BAD eating experience. Waiters were rude and the food was terrible. We only took a few bites of every dish we ordered. The waiter also poured our wine to our neighboring table, then denied he had done it. Seriously, do not eat here,

very impolite waiters ,at the beginning they'd seemed to be very helpful and kind but as they found out we'd like to order just a coffee, their behaviour changed 180 degrees, as hey brought it to us, they let us drink it but the made some remarks and brought the bill really quickly to get rid out of us...

Dirty waiters, not professionals, they don't know what to suggest. PAELLA was extremely bad, price above touristic one. Not suggested for couple, especially of the girl is crazy and mad, like in my case.

This restaurant is perched right beside the beach boardwalk and that is its redeeming quality. And you pay for it. The food is fine, the service is fast but impersonal, and the ambience is that of a tacky tourist attraction. It's adequate but definitely not outstanding, so poor value given the food prices.

The price is appallingly high compared with local restaurants and more importantly, the food is the saltiest stuff I've ever tasted in my whole life. The service is wonderful, but it doesn't compensate its awful food. Without the service, I guess I would have marked zero-star for this restaurant if applicable.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
