My son and I stumbled on this 'cave' of a restaurant by accident, on one of Segovia's back streets. We're so glad we did! We had to wait about 40 minutes for a table but that was OK, because the restaurant's complimentary tapas (if you buy some alcohol) were delicious! If you're looking for a really authentic eating experience in... More

Dined without a recommendation in this quiet out of the way restaurant which is large inside. Language was an issue but menu also in english. We tried a 3 course meal of local fare - white bean soup, suckling pig, grilled goat, custard, fried milk accompanied by a bottle of red wine & water. Also a complimentary potato salad starter... There are a number of very nice restaurants in Segovia, serving roast suckling pig as a speciality. Thus small place is a good stop for a light lunch and some wine, but is not in the same league as the better restaurants in town, e.g., Jose Maria or Meson Candido.

I didn't really want to say too much, because this is one of my favourite places in Segovia. Great food, a lively atmosphere and very kind to non-Spanish speakers. Just please don't tell too many people - it's great.

I chose this restaurant because I was passing and it seemed full of locals. I was then worried when I saw the extreme range of reviews. Service was fine. I had the Menu del dia starting with the gazpacho which was good. The calamares were fairly horrible and the flan was standard. I guess a lot depends on what you... More

This man is a true chef and you will notice the many newspaper clippings that are posted on the walls. The food here has a distinctive flavor and flair- it seems more ethnic, more Spanish, more real and local. It will stand out over some of the other places that you have eaten in Spain. You will notice this right... More

This is an excellent Tapas bar. It also has a very small intimate dining room offering good value simple food. Very friendly staff and regulars but no English spoken, Refreshingly Spanish. Won several awards for their selection of wines.

This place is on a side street, and bit hard to find. There are daily "menu of the day", and a special menu if you want to try the suckling pig that costs more. Be sure to try the suckling pig. It's so soft and juicy! One of the specialties to try in Spain!

Excellent food, home-made and at a very good price. The place is most famous for its wine selection.

We day-tripped to Segovia from Madrid, and wanted to eat lunch while we were there. We had heard good things about this place and wanted to try it. It is off the beaten path, two blocks past Plaza Mayor on Calle Valdelaguila. It is a bit hard to find, but well worth the trouble. We arrived earlier than the usual... More
