Lovely setting by the Cathedral for an evening meal, but if you don't speak Spanish you may get a nasty surprise like we did! Having chosen the fish of the day for our meal, we were told that as they have a very large fish which would be baked, instead of the 21Euros per person cost on the Menu the... More

We ate in Larruzz on a Sunday night so things were pretty quiet. There is outdoor seating, but it was rather cool so we ate inside. We had grilled vegetables with goat cheese to start. (Always a good choice in this part of Spain.) The rice dishes are the local version of paella and there are many different choices. In... More

We had dinner and lunch and both were excellent. The staff were very accommodating. We sat outside for lunch watching the Christian Corpus day (?) downing a very nice (huge) gin and tonic and sharing their version of Paella with scrumptious, sweet prawns and langoustines. The inside section of the restaurant was also very pleasant.

Just arrived in Burgos and tired driving and happened on Larruzz. We selected an outdoor table to take in the atmosphere and people watch. Excellent service and again as is our want we chose one of the 'Menu del Dia' and an a la carte selection. Really tasty generous helpings of tasty food extremely well presented. Good value and had... We entered the restaurant from "the back door" at Paseo del Espolon and then when we sat we just realized we were facing the Burgos Cathedral! For lunch we had for "primeros" a wonderful sopa de cebolla (onion soup), pisto Manchego con huevo, and for "segundos" Milhosas de berejena y ternera and a very good Bacallao al horno. For dessert... The restaurant was recommended by friends, and it was great. Good food, service, big portions and nice view. I really loved this place and I recommend it!

You have a look at the restaurant outside and it looks like a good one but nothing of the sort!!! The 15€ menu is so weak and simple. In a nutshell, don't judge by appearances is what I'll take into account the next time.

With nine days of pilgrims meals in us from walking the Camino, we were very ready for a traditional quality meal. Lucky for us we walked into Larruzz. Comforting, simple and delicious--my favourite style of cooking. A good rustic bottle of local wine added to the feeling of satisfaction. A nap followed.

We ate here because it was open before 9.30 pm and we were dead on our feet. We had the arroz con pollo. It was OK, but rather greasy, and the chicken was mostly bone. Canned beans not fresh. Oh well.

We enjoyed a nice meal at the restaurant Larruzz, located at the city heart, just in front of the cathedral. The views from the table were superb, because we were sat at the window. And the meal, based on different rice dishes was great. Typical combinations of rice with seafood were the best. Very good price-quality ratio and the waiters... More
