The service is amazing. The menu is changed everyday and every single dish is a masterpiece. The place is small, so it is highly recommended to have a reservation. Do not miss dessert!!

I loved the food and the ambience. The service was fantastic and the portions were just the right size. The restaurant is a bit expensive but worth visiting. We tried several dishes and they were all tasty. The restaurant is cozy and have limited spaces...so better to have a reservation in advance.More

Really great food quality, I noticed a Japanese touch, a bit of a fusion. Very interesting dishes. The waiter and I assume the owner was super kind and attentive. Good atmosphere. A bit pricey but the quality was top notch.

A very small restaurant in the newer part of Toledo, outside the historic centre. Fish is the speciality: it is very fresh and prepared with unusual creativity. Expect to pay rather more than usual for food of this quality.

Ovrrated. Expensive given regular quality of food. I paid 40 euros per person without wine and desert. In Madrid you can get a fantastic dinner for that price

It is not easy to find a place where to dine in Toledo. The town is full of small “tapas” bars and low quality fast food. If you what something more sophisticated you should book this restaurant. The food is rather tasty, some of the...dishes are near to excellent. The restaurant is very small so preliminary booking is requiredMore

What a wonderful restaurant. Very small and intimate with a lovely atmosphere. The food was superb, a great wine list and the owner is a sommelier so can advise you well. It was a very memorable experience, well done! I would advise anyone to make...a reservation as it’s very popular.More

Restaurant nearest to hotel Majoral - went on spec and lucky to get a table on a Friday evening. Fish is their speciality - the smoked sardine starter for one was superb. My wife had corvina which was superbly cooked. I had red mullet, one...piece with a light batter and the other grilled or gently fried and a couple of oysters - delicious. Liquorice icecream for my wife was a special treat! Wine by the glass from Galicia was different but paired well with the fish dishes. Service was attentive and overcame language limitations. Thanks to the team for a lovely evening meal.More

The decoration of this restaurant is grey and cold, and so is the atmosphere, service and food. The management seems more interested in number of plates served, than in satisfied guests that want to come back. Rather medium quality main courses, but some good deserts.

We arrived just after they had opened half past eight. Half an hour later all tables where full – all locals. A good sign. We ordered dishes from the “share” part of the menu – so did the locals. One dish per person will do,...but don’t hesitate to order a few more if someone is really hungry. They only have some six tables so it’s a good idea to reserve. Located outside the centre they have to have good food and service – they had!More

No matter where we travel, we like to take a break from the tourist areas and get away to where the locals eat. We've done it in Disney World, we've done it at Versailles, and now we've done it in Toledo. And every time, it...has not only given us a nice, relaxing break from the insanity of the tourist attractions, but when we do it in Europe, it gives us a chance to experience the true local culture and people. La Mar Sala is easy to get to ... when you cross the modern bridge from the train station, it is two blocks to the right, up the hill, but in the opposite way from where all the tourists walk. Within the first block, you know this is where the locals go. We ordered the day's menu for the variety and the price. We were amazed at the quality and the ingenuity/creativity of what they brought us, all seafood dishes, all had inspirations by Spanish dishes, but going in delicious directions. In fact, while we had a couple of restaurants on our trip that I would say were a LITTLE bit better than them, La Mar Sala gave me the MOST incredible single dish of our entire ten days in Spain, a grilled butter fish with teriyaki sauce and vegetable wok (it has been over a week since we ate here and my mouth is STILL watering over it). They also have a very nice wine list (loved our Galician Godello!) that is very well priced. And for those non-Spanish speakers, several of their servers spoke some English - not fluent but more than sufficient to communicate with us so that there was no problem! I've already started sending friends here and definitely would suggest you have lunch or dinner here! And if you do go, set a reservation. While it wasn't necessary for us since we had a reservation for right when they opened for lunch, by the time we left, the restaurant was packed.More

Wanted to update last comment on this outlet. Last review I could only see a shabby building from outside and wondered if I was at the right place The owner replied to my comment advising me of opening times so I had a visit today....Inside wonderful fish counters clean and air conditioned premises inside a hidden jewel indeed. Bought tuna in tomato sauce delightful will definitely be backMore

A treat by our host to visit his friend and favourite restaurant. Tasting menu of fresh fish bought in the morning and 2 accompanying wines ranked in the top 1% in the world. I’m not eloquent enough to write words that could possibly do justice...to last nights dinner other than to say I have no idea why this restaurant doesn’t have several Michelin stars. Service and ambiance also superb. Simply amazingMore
