For Santander, this is the place for churros and chocolate. Having said that, it's not quite as good as the average place in Madrid and not as cheap as it used to be. But it's still better than Valor. I do recommend going if you're here and it's usually pretty full of local people. A cup of chocolate and 6... More

Lovely little place that doesn't look anything special from outside, in fact looks like a place that you'd avoid. However when you walk in, the staff are absolutely lovely, patient and helpful. The churros are amazing!! One portion is more than enough to satisfy a sweet tooth! Enjoy!

This place takes some effort to find, as it's tucked behind the Plaza Pombo in the Puerto Chico area of central Santander. At first glance it looks like an old, 1950's malt shop. But after settling in, be sure to order the specialty of hot chocolate and churros. The chocolate is a deep dark (almost)black color, with the density of... More

this is one of the most typical places to have a Spanish sweet called CHURROS and hot chocolate. All made on the premises and with an air of the 60s decade that can transport you way back then.

We had some excellent churros con chocolate when we visited. Service was great staff accommodating and when we came back I discovered that they even sell wine. Wonderful place.

On arrival we were so warmly greeted by the camerero & the family who ran this business. The churros con chocolat were amazing.Freshly cooked to order churros & the chocolat was extremely delicious.Served also with a glass of water. The price of just under 5 euros was underpriced for the quality of this & the family's friendliness which was emphasised... More

We went here for a late breakfast to try out the churros and chocolate. Exactly as in the photographs, and as in other people's description. I am not a churros expert by any means but these are definitely very very good.

My favorite place for churros! The price is great--5 churros for about 1.1 euros during the day and around 2 euros at night. I'm a big fan of their churros but it's more of a personal preference because I like how it's more doughy/moist on the inside rather than just crunchy inside and out. If you like dark chocolate, their... More

In a familiar and cosy atmosphere I had a nice experience to repeat again and again. We had a great welcome. The stuff was cheerful and kind. We had coffee and tea and the popular "churros with chocolate". They were made freshly and instantly. I am happy for my choise to have popped Churreria Aliva in.

We've made it a point to to try as many different churrerias as possible. We always seem to come back here as our favorite. The churros always arrive hot and the chocolate is by far the best we've had. The major complaint is they close too early. So many times we've been in the neighborhood after 2200 and wanted churros,... More
