We had an amazing meal at Cafe Balear. The restaurant was immaculate as were the staff. The attention to detail from the beautiful starched tablecloth and highly polished glasses set a great first impression. The menu has a good choice of fish, meat and vegetarian options. I had the clams to start which were excellent. For main course I had... More

We fell upon this restaurant on the port side mid afternoon whilst visiting cuitadella and so glad we did. The waiters were very professional and accommodating even switching tables around so we could sit at the waterside. We had a very reasonably priced set lunch menu @ €18.50 for 3 courses. Between us we had carpaccio of veal, stuffed peppers... More

Good food, good and friendly service. A bit pricey but not out of control when compared with the rest of the island. I recommend the place for dinner.

Popular with locals and visitors alike. Once you have visited you will realy appreciate why people keep coming back to this place. The menu is interesting and varied, the menu of the day is realy good value. Has happy atmosphere and attentive service. Close to the free harbour car park.

Took a table of five for a family dinner. I'd been recommended the restaurant by someone who had been coming back to Minorca for a number of years and it was fantastic. We went for an evening meal and the ambience was second to none. The waiters didn't present the meal as you would expect in a fine dining restaurant... More

I have visited Cafe Balear in the past, but it was much different in appearance. It was a formal eating place with an old world atmosphere. Now it is very modern and quite bright and airy. The food is still very good. They have a full seafood menu with a great selection on the menu of the day. For the... More

After a succession of very average lunches and dinners in the cala'n bosch marina, we decided to drive into Ciutadella and sample the restaurants there. Thankfully we found Cafe Balear! Lovely setting and atmosphere. Attentive waiters and great service. Then we sampled the food and wow, really really tasty. It's what we had been hoping for all along! As we... More

After 5 days in Menorca I finally made it to Cafe Balear, we had a lovely table on the quay side and every dish was perfect from the Iberian ham to the lobster stew. Our most expensive meal so far but worth every penny. A lovely wine selection too. Even a tropical downpour and a mad dash into the restaurant... More

Our second visit to a port-side restaurant (the fist being about four years ago). A pleasant location by the very end of Ciutadella harbour with good, inexpensive food and outstanding service- a team of waiters which included two with excellent Northern-based English accents. A thoroughly enjoyable enjoyable experience

Description
It was opened in the 70s, as a tavern in the harbour that welcomed seafarers in the early hours of the morning before they went to work. Over 40 years, the family business gains the confidence of its customers and became the meeting place for many, where they could enjoy all kinds of tapas and freshly caught seafood. At the present time Cafè Balear is a highly-regarded Menorcan restaurant and a must visit in the Port of Ciutadella. Here you will find a lively welcoming atmosphere, where you can enjoy dishes based on fish and seafood, freshly caught by our own boat, the Rosa Santa Primera.
