We ate here during a 3 day trip to Asturias and this was certainly the best meal we had in Oviedo. Huge starters - recommend the octopus with potato and paprika and the superb sirloin steak and hake. Wine was also better than other Oviedo restaurants we visited.

My boyfriend and I went to El Fondin with my parents last month. We didn't have a reservation, but I would recommend making one. They were able to accommodate us and we were happy that they did. We sat outside (plaza trascorrales) and had a lovely time. The food was delicious! We will go again!

This charming restaurant is in a pretty little Oviedo square. Friendly service and delicious food, especially the fish and seafood. Well worth a visit - local and not at all touristy.

This elegant restaurant is located in the Plaza de Trascorrales which we reached by walking through the old town, a pedestrian district much prettier and more authentic than the touristic zone to which our hotel concierge had directed us, with locals of all ages sitting at tables on patios outside bars and restaurants eating tapas, sipping wine, beer and cider,... After two weeks travelling northern spain, we were truly delighted by the cuisine of this tiny restaurant. Fresh and excellent i gredients appeared to be the basis of the dishes we had: We specially limed the anchovies with tomato salad, the calamares en su tinta, the fabe with mussels and the juicy tortilla with gambas. Very kindhearted staff!

... And this is one of those times. If you see the reviews for El Fondino you notice a high avg. score and according to our visit, it is well deserved. The fabes con almejas that my girlfriend took and the risotto de chipriones were both deliciously prepared in a tiny kitchen next to whwre we sat. The waiter also... More

If you are in Oviedo and fancy a nice dinner, please visit El Fondín at Pza Trascorrales. It houses only a few tables so make sure to either book a table or be early - you do not want to miss out this. We had the ravioli with foie, it was magnificent. Dessert was deep fried milk (never had before)... More
