The entry of Pelayo bar indicates the exact point where the top of Giralda could fall. There are two halls, one mix of avant-garde with New York and one mix of taurine room with Blade Runner. Both are connected by a vertical garden that hide the kitchen where we make the "Tapas".

Good experience and great food

We felt the food we ordered was great and the atmosphere and ambience is the restaurant were really nice. We felt the menu was slightly limited for non-meat eaters (albeit it is a Tapas restaurant so not surprising!) Staff could’ve been a little been more helpful - we were stood at the door for 15 minutes waiting to be seated when it wasn’t that busy and had a reservation. Overall, though a good experience.

Fantastic tapas great staff

We visited Pelayo Bar twice for Tapas on our weekend in Seville. Situated less than 2 minutes from the Cathedral it is easy to find. We had the Camembert, Jamon Croquettes and Fried Chicken all of which were fantastic and very well priced with drinks it cost €30.20 for 2 portions of each.

Excellent Tapas, amazing people

I really loved this place, the tapas were very well presented and delicious, Prices really good for Sevilla, We had the Iberic Carrillada con patata y setas and it was fantastic. The Artichokes, with gulas and serrano ham was excellent. Would recommend the Tuna Tataki, the baked goat cheese and we also had a very nice cheese cake. The place is nicely decorated with a lovely wall garden inside but what really is the strongest point of this place is the employees. Many thanks to Coral, Alex and the 2 Frans! You are indeed a very professional team and made us feel great. 5 starts plus!

Seville does fast food!

We were massively disappointed with the meal given the positive reviews and the obvious popularity of the restaurant when passing by. It like a fast food restaurant with waiters rushing round and customer moving round like in an airport terminal. The food arrived just minutes after ordering and tasted bland and processed. Given the massively high quoting of restaurants in Seville we would definitely recommend giving this place a miss. We’re shocked by the other reviews!

Nice looking place was looking forward to eating here but when food arrived it was awful. Chicken plate delivered twice was sent back twice as under cooked and declined third attempt. Paella was one prawn and tasteless rice which we refused to pay for as well as the chicken. Such a shame. Would never go back.

Don’t waste your money!!

Saw this place and looked so inviting,how wrong we were! I ordered paella which was like something out of a rice boil in the bag and virtually no meat or fish in it. Two prawns on top that were so dried out that you couldn’t even peel them. My husband ordered medium beef that was so rare it almost could walk off the plate and it was served with about 8 chips and wasn’t cheap by a long shot. So many better places to eat. I don’t normally give bad reviews but this was shocking. Should have complained at the time but the waiting staff had such limited English that we just wanted to get out.

Everything was superb

This was top notch tapas. We had a plate of the best ever mixed fried fish any of us had ever had between the four of us. Nothing that was remotely average in quality was delivered to the table. Superb food and wine in a lovely setting, topped off with excellent service. The kitchen also timed the delivery of each dish to the table perfectly with each of us getting orders delivered in sequence and so there was no one person getting two dishes while others had none which seems to happen in even some of the best taperias. It doesn’t break the bank either.

Far fetched

If you don’t like cumin you’re gonna have a bad time because they seem to put it in a lot of dishes. Other than the potato in the octopus which was outstanding everything else was regular. The stuffed avocado was far fetched with edgy ingredients. If I would to go another time I would stick to just the specialties of the house.

Amazing food, poor service

We walked past this restaurant on Saturday during our stay in Seville. We looked at the menus and thought we would book a table for our last night in Seville on Tuesday 11th Oct, which we we did for 20:00. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was full, and a waitress asked us how many we needed a table for. She didn't even ask if we had booked a table or anything. We waited a few mins and then was taken through to the back of the restaurant, which was empty and given a table which was not even set up with plates and cutlery. There was no atmosphere, no music playing while at the front of the restaurant there was buzz and music playing. The service was really poor, not very attentive to customers, very slow at taking drinks and food orders. The best bit was the food it was outstanding when it arrived, and that's why I only give 3 out of 5. I feel the restaurant just filled up the restaurant, whether you have a booking or don't have a booking. Which is a very poor way of running a business. I would not recommend going here and go somewhere else, plenty of other restaurants in Seville.

Good service, average food

Came to the restaurant after seeing it and it’s rating on trip advisor. Unfortunately it did not live up to its rating. Very average/bad food. Most of it was overcooked and dry, the paella prawns were extremely dry and crumbled apart. Everything was very much below par.

Lacked atmosphere…..

We booked on the recommendation of our hosts, on arrival the restaurant appeared to be nearly full, however we were escorted to a room at the rear that was almost empty with little atmosphere. The food was perfectly acceptable, but nothing exceptional. The Pork Cheek and the Chicken were well cooked, but lacked any inspiration. On leaving and walking through the front of the restaurant where there was a lovely ambience emanating from the full room.

Great to be back here for lunch

It is great that this tapas bar has reopened after the lock down. The menu is largely unchanged and the cooking as good as I remembered it. The ambience is relaxed and the service fast without being hurried. Another positive side of this eating place is that it is possible to have lunch on the early side (before 1.00 pm).

Tapas and sherry wine

My husband and I visited the bar while visiting seville on a day trip from our p&o cruise .the young lady serving us asked our nationality and when we told her English she immediately spoke in our language to us . She recommended tapas dishes and the sherry wine , i cannot praise the service and attention to detail enough . We were made to feel very welcome and made our experience of seville a day to remember .

Excellent tapas bar/ restaurant near Seville Cathedral

Came upon this tapas bar / restaurant while visiting Seville yesterday. It’s on a narrow side street in the shadow of Seville Cathedral and the tapas we had there was excellent, probably our best tapas experience in Spain ever. Tasty food, attentive and friendly bar staff and very reasonably priced. It’s a busy bar yet our wait for a table was only a few minutes and food service was equally prompt. There’s a lovely lively convivial buzz about this bar and we would have no hesitation in recommending it for tapas or a larger meal.

Great tapas

We went back to Bar Pelayo today on our second trip to Sevilla. Our son loves tapas so we wanted to let him try it. The food was superb and the service great. This is some of the best tapas we have had and the price is reasonable. This is definitely a must on a visit to Sevilla.
