About
The decor is inspired by the Parisian salons of half of the twentieth century. Its Roofs, held by iron and wood beams, its French-style lamps and the original collections of old books, make Pepe Hillo an unique setting to enjoy "tapas" in Seville.

A friend and I visited Pepe Hillo on a recommendation from the Hotel where we were staying for a short break in Seville. It didn't disappoint. On a Friday night the bar was full and had a great friendly atmosphere. Plates of very tasty looking tapas were flying out of the kitchen past us, over us etc. Rather than attempt to order in the bar we booked a table in the restaurant section. there was a short wait, but this just gave time to enjoy the atmosphere and drinks in the bar. The restaurant as with the bar is very well appointed and the menu varied and extensive. We ordered a selection of Tapas dishes and each one was fresh and very enjoyable. The Tapas portions are quite small but they are priced accordingly and are a great way to try a selection of different dishes. The mixed seafood platter and grilled swordfish were particularly good. Overall great atmosphere, very good food and service; would recommend.

Walked by this place on Sunday afternoon and there was a queue 25 people long waiting to get in. We decided on the spot to return that evening for dinner. Our waiter was fantastic, pointing out the dishes that he liked the best. His taste, apparently, aligned perfectly with ours. The Spanish omelette (with whiskey sauce) was amazing. After dinner we resolved to return the next night for a second meal and it was just as good. The stuffed avocado was the highlight. The food is so excellent and the prices can't be believed. Our second dinner, with 3 tapas (the portions are large) and four glasses of wine, came to 26 Euros. Amazing! I would give it 10 stars for value if I could.

We visited this Tapas bar/restaurant twice in the last 4 weeks and it is now a firm favourite! Our last visit was on Saturday 29th February at lunch time and we just got in around 1330 before the crowds appeared. People were willing to queue for tables. The food is excellent with a good range of tapas or full plates, not just your run of the mill tapas that you can find in many of the bars around the city! The prices are very cheap for food and drinks and the place is buzzing. So if you like good food, a few drinks and a great atmosphere this is the bar for you. Ps if you’re in the bar it’s self service, but you won’t wait too long for food!

We didn’t feel welcome at all when we walked in. The waiters starred at us and began laughing. They didnt show us to a table and took the order of two local who arrived after us and left us waiting for 20 mins. The waiters could have been nicer to tourists and stop being racist

This was the first meal we had on a recent trip to Seville and it was very disappointing. The service really let the whole experience down. The food was fine, but after ordering, our water and wine orders never arrived, we asked 2 different wait staff about it before they eventually arrived, after a number of tapas dishes had been served and eaten.

We had a great dinner on our final night in Seville here. With seating available outside and in, we were sat straight away but there were the odd group that did have to wait for 5-10 minutes. Never a bad sign though. My partner has a dairy intolerance but the menu, downloadable from QR code, made it really easy to navigate ourselves through the menu safely enough. The food was great, with special mention to the tortilla and pork cheek dish. Really reasonable price wise too.

Unfriendly waiters and disrespectful at the end, the food was not tasty and the service was awful. The waiter kept making comments and mumbling whenever we spoke to him. Horrible impression of Seville. We are a family visiting the city for 3 days, we were shocked.

Very unhappy with our experience. This restaurant was recommended to us from a friend who visited a few years ago. The food was sub par and the wait staff was very rude. We wanted to order a variety of tapas and the waiter told us it was too much food and didn’t allow us to order everything we wanted. There were so many flies in the restaurant and it was bothersome and added to the terrible experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.

We were fortunate to find this little restaurant. What could be better than sitting in the lovely afternoon sun enjoying delicious, fresh food. We were spoilt for choice on what to order but ended up with goats cheese salad (heavenly and so fresh) and mixed fish platter. Both meals were tasty, big portions and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

The wonderful front desk clerk at our hotel in Santa Cruz suggested we get out of the immediate area if we didn't want to eat with other tourists. Pepe Hillo near the bullfighting arena was one of the places he goes to. We had 5 tapas dishes and 6 drinks between 2, for€40, and everything was great. Eggplant au gratin was probably my fav, though the Iberico ham was really great--I've never had such nutty meat, not salty or smoky particularly, but nutty! The spinach and chickpeas was also delish, and the baccalao was actually my least favourite. We picked a couple of (dry) sherries instead of beer for our last round, and they were also surprisingly good. I think of sherry as something my grandmother would drink, but it was a great accompaniment to the ham. Efficient service, not fawning but helpful when we needed it, not a lot of English but perfectly proficient in enough words and gestures to get by! Fully recommend this place.

Faultless. Our first tapas night in Seville did not disappoint. Out of all the places we visited, the service was most efficient here. The waitress kept an eye on how you were getting on with your tapas to make sure it wasn’t all served at once, but also so you didn’t end up with gaps between food. Great taste, portion sizes and value. Get the goats cheese & walnut salad!!

Pepe Hillo is a fantastic spot. The avocado was our favourite dish. The staff were very attentive, friendly and inviting. We were in Seville for 5 days and we loved Pepe Hillo's so much we went twice on our visit between 26 June and 30 June 2023. Well done to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and explaining the tapas dishes to us and assisting us with our wine selection. From the 3 ladies from Dublin, Ireland. We will be back to this fabulous restaurant.

We ate here twice last year. So we booked a table for this visit at 20:00. It was busy when we arrived, but emptied out after a while. At this stage people were being turned away even though most tables were empty. I assume because there were bookings for later. It is a tourist place, with the obligatory bulls' heads staring down from the walls. Service was friendly, attentive and prompt. Food was very good. For starters we had tapas of peppers and of fried cuttlefish. We each had different pork dishes for mains (Mortero - Solomillo de cerdo, jamón ibérico, patatas, tomate y salsa verde and Solomillo Al whisky). I thought the latter was a bit too salty. Nice wine. Overall, our impression was that the food last year was nicer and the wine list was wider.

The decor adds to the atmosphere of this very busy restaurant. Our waiter did not appear to relish his job and was not as friendly and welcoming as the other staff members seemed to be. That said, the food was delicious - the pork cheeks were so tender and the octopus tentacles really flavoursome. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Someone local who is an honest & proud Spaniard recommended this place for the ‘orange wine’ and boy… I’m so happy that I went. I stayed for another😉 and it was worth it. It’s a modernised version of what must’ve been a Spanish ‘eateria’ with one or two bull heads and memorabilia but very tasteful and felt like a harmonise devour. Tapas are fairly priced and good examples of what you should try out when visiting Seville. Staff was accommodating with my broken Spanish; there’s a QR code for those who need translation. Overall, I’d be happy to come back if time allows.
