Bodega Santa Cruz is the spot if you want everything with a big dollop of mayo. It's about the only non-touristic and affordable spot in Santa Cruz. Good quick nice and real.

Our hotel was nearby and this place was always packed. It's a self-service bar, menu changes every day, friendly bartenders, busy but yet happy to have a chat with customers. Be ready to stand around as tables are very limited. Drinks are cheap, cheap small tapas around 2 euro/each, but nothing fancy, very average, chips mostly as a side. Would... More

Couldn't be happier to have gone to this place for our final dinner in Spain. They are open in the afternoons, when most places are closed, so that's a plus. We got espinacas con garbanzons (plump garbanzos cooked slowly with spinach and balanced spices), solomillo al whisky with home-fries like potatoes (was not my thing, but the hubs enjoyed it),... Here are always lots of people and it is not easy to find a free table- but thats because here you can get very good and authentic tapas for a very good price!! I can recommend coming here!

It seemed most unadventurous to dive into this place as it was literally two steps from our hotel, however it simply draws you in with the terrific buzz of activity. Locals (and they most certainly all seemed to be local) spilling onto the pavements, the interior packed and an endless changing population of families having swift bites to eat and... More

This is a locals place that doesn't see too many tourists, but is the best and most authentic tapas we had on our trip. The pace is very quick in here and the staff don't suffer fools, and this is part of the attraction. Be right any to order quickly and not fumble with what you want or risk being... More

On a recent visit my wife and I popped in here every day for some tapas and beer/wine. Authentic, traditional tapas bar full of locals with great food. Doesn't try to be fancy. If you want to enjoy proper spanish culture come here. Don't expect to get a table but enjoy the sunshine outside.

My wife and I, being of advancing years, preferred to eye this establishment from premises opposite. However, there is no doubt that of all the numerous bars and tapas houses in the Santa Cruz district, this was the most popular with the younger set. It had a special buzz - even from the far side of the crossroads at which... More

A good humoured, very lively, busy place to go for drinks and tapas. The people working there all seem to be having a great time and it's infectious. If you can fight your way up to the bar, you can stand there and order from an extensive range of reasonably priced and good classic tapas dishes. The pringa is great,... More
