Passed this restaurant whilst looking for another, which was closed, so headed back here. Modern restaurant with good aircon, although they serve spanish food, they also have Morrocan on the menu, so fancying a change We had starters of morrocan soup, followed by lamb with vegetables and couscous. Both were excellent and made a great change from tapas. Service was... More

First course of pastilla was good as was the chocolate pudding, but the main fish courses we chose were dull - salmon with saffron sauce that contained virtually no saffron and heavily over-salted cod. The next table had lobster paella which contained far too much liquid; maybe the meat is better? Staff were friendly if a little disorganised. The view... More

Food was incredible and there were lots of dishes - like a tasting menu. The presentation was great and the staff were all friendly. The wine was not the best, however the G&Ts were nice. The staff were friendly also.

We had lunch here and the food was pretty good, but not great (it felt like a tourist trap). The paella was extremely salty (almost impossible to eat), but the fried cuttlefish and the `Dessert degustation` were good. As for the staff, during our lunch one waiter broke a glass, another broke a bottle of sparkling water and a third... More

If it hadn't been recommended by our host Robert we might have passed it by after a brief look at the somewhat pricey menu. However the 28 euro tasting menu was to die for. began with cava and an appetizer and concluded with a over the top dessert plate (6 or 7 good size tastes) and a glass of port.... More

Windows on La Alhambra. At the base of the hill, one cannot find a better view. The food is exceptional, especially the gazpacho. The staff is attentive, the menu offers both fine food, and tapas, with a very fine wine list. Recommended by our hotel, we ate there twice because we enjoyed it so much.

The food is good, not espetacular, but good. The atmosphere is great, with a gorgeous view to the Alhambra. Staff was friendly. We were in three persons: we ordered a bottle of wine, one portion of Jamon as an entree to share and each one ordered a plate, which all of them were red meat. The total price was 115... More

Their picture above of the table and the Alhambra is exactly where we were, indoors, airconditioning (it was getting hot outside). We were here for a late lunch, so it wasn't busy. The food was superb and the staff were fantastic. If I ever go back, I hope this wonderful restaurant is still there. Highly recommended.

Description
At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran. It is in the
incomparable setting of the Paseo de los Tristes right in the Albaicin, which is perfect
for the traveller that loves to soak up history.
Our kitchen, surrounded by this extraordinary scenery, can be found in the same mix of
cultures alternating between Arab flavors, international foods and the traditional tastes
from Andalucia. It's worth to mention our Tuna Tataki, the Cous-Cous (chicken, lamb
or vegetable), Duck Magret, Moorish Pie and also undoubtedly our homemade desserts.
All of this accompanied by the best local wines, cavas from the Alpujarra mountains
and a special selection of Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines.
The restaurant Ruta del Azafran offers different menus for groups that are carefully put
together by our chef to provide the most exquisite flavors.
All of our meats are Halal and we are ready to accept any request with respect to this.
We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Our kitchen professionals who make up a highly qualified team assemble all of the
dishes in the restaurant.
We invite you to visit us: to enjoy the surroundings and taste our exquisite dishes.
