My family and I went to this restaurant on Three Kings Day hoping to get a table without a reservation. We were warmly greeted and treated like Kings indeed! I had a seafood dish with monkfish and my husband had sole...both dishes were so tasty! The broth in the seafood dish was seasoned perfectly. In fact, we are going back... More

This was absolutely the best local food and wine we have been served in Marbella so far. We felt vey welcome and the dishes were interesting and price very reasonable. Highly recommendable if you wish to visit The Old Town in Marbella

Hard to add anything to our previous reviews - Juan is still at the top of his game when it comes to a wholesome perfect traditional paella. Plenty of options available including chorizo & ribs and squid & mushroom (not your normal mushroom - these had a really intense flavour). Other non-rice based courses for those not keen on paella.... More

We have dined at El Cortijo numerous times now (sometimes more than once during a holiday) and have never left disappointed. The food and service are excellent, the wine is delicious, and the ambience is just perfect. This is by far our favourite restaurant in the Old Town and we will definitely return again this Christmas! Looking forward to it... More

We were served paella with lobster, prawns and clams. This took its time, but was well worth the waiting. Simply the best ever! The dessert was so tasteful and had been made with passion, home made flavours in perfect combination. Thank you, we will be back!

We have visited this restaurant many times. You have to walk past the more touristy places to find it but well worth it as the locals use it and it's proper Spain. Excellent food & friendly welcome

Wandering around the beautiful old town of Marbella we stopped at El Cortijo by chance, we were made to feel very welcome in this quaint little restaurant. We sat outside on the narrow lane in front of the restaurant, this helped add to the great atmosphere at lunchtime. The service was first class and the choice of food and wine... More

Recommended for its varied menus interesting decor and extensive wine list. We had the garlic prawns and fresh sardines to start and seafood paella to share.

El Cortijo is a little tucked away in Marbella old town but it's well worth the search. Don't be sucked in by the other tourist restaurants nearby which look more flashy. El Cortijo is a fabulous place which serves super Spanish food. Perhaps even more importantly (for me at least) the wine is superb because the owner spends months getting... More
