I can’t see how people are moaning about this place. We went twice and both meals were excellent. Service was quick, cocktails are freshly made and only around 8 euro so reasonably priced! Meals were around 15 euros which for the portion size was excellent and great quality I would highly rate this restaurant, and the setting is lovely with the views

So this little restaurant at the port was our favorite this summer. First for the flavor of the dishes, we chose the beef cooked on the stone and it was a real delight, extra tender meat, accompanied by baked potatoes with aioli sauce. The dessert, chocolate profiteroles, was also excellent, small choux pastry garnished with light cream, covered with hot chocolate and good vanilla ice cream. The managers took the time to go to each table without distinction to ask if everything was okay, which remains exceptional. In addition, this small restaurant is ideally located opposite the port. In short, everything is there to ensure that you have a pleasant time, so if you are in the area, don't hesitate.

Have eaten here regularly for past 20 years, always very good / consistent delivery on good food and excellent service. Its not cheap by any means but the food has always been excellent. Our last visit this week was just a little disappointing, husbands steak was excellent ( he said ) but it only came with, veg, fries or rice (pre covid would have been fries and veg ie 2 sides, could just be a sign of the times as cost of food increases - but adding an extra side would not have broken the bank, my prawn, avocado and mango salad with caviar was delicious, but very small for a main course - it also needed a dressing, (none provided) but I did enjoy it. We both had the baked cheesecake for desert, pre covid it would have been accompanied by some cream or a small scoop of ice cream, (neither offered) so it was quite boring! Staff were less attentive than usual, it was busy but pre covid times, wine glasses / water would be topped up by passing staff, we also had to ask for water glasses as only had wine glasses on our table but had ordered both wine and water - on the whole its still a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting, owner Vincent is a complete gentleman, who still works incredibly hard every evening at the restaurant ❤️

Last week we went for our yearly holiday meal at la Despensa as a group of four friends. The service was shocking, the staff were rude, the bill for 4 people was over £240. The goats cheese salad was late coming to the table so all our other food went cold waiting for it! There was only 6 tables of customers, what an earth will it be like in high season! Had to pour our own expensive wine. When the bill came they even had the cheek to charge us £2 for a small pot of mayonnaise to make the goats cheese salad edible! We wont be going back and if I were you, go to Portofino's for a much nicer and more reasonable experiance! Plus the Mayonnaise is FREE!

We have been coming here for over 20 years whilst on holiday and always look forward to lunch in the sunshine looking out over the boats. We have always been very well looked after and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We visited today and as we have always done so each asked for a half portion of a pasta dish as we find a full portion too much and not able to eat it all. It has never been a problem in the past but today we were greeted by the waiter sighing and shaking his head saying that half portions were for children and that his boss would not be happy. He did however take our order but stated that it would be a one off and we wouldn’t be able to order this in the future. Not sure we will rush back!

A scam, they charge you very expensive dishes that satisfy nothing. For example; spaguetti a la cabornara, €15 and they had ham and the cream sauce of a bottle, had nothing of cabornara. And the chocolate crepe €8 and you get 3 grams of chocolate. Very bad experience.

Attend for Valentine’s Day, started off ok but things very quickly went down hill , our food was under cooked and luke warm , vegetables arrived quite awhile after our dinner was served. Dessert took even longer than every time we ordered a drink took ages to arrive. The owners were floating around had a quiet word with him who basically did not care , his reply was thank you for letting me no , absolutely disgusting and after that kept away from us . Sadly won’t be returning

Terrible waited 45 mins for a drink. Food was passed to one end of table so we had to pass it down. Orders wrong or incomplete no mention of things not on menu just bought up other options without asking. And the worst when I spoke to manager at the end he smiled at me and laughed disgraceful

We visited this restaurant on our last evening in Cabapino, we ate at several others and the food was excellent. I ordered baby lamb chops, I requested they were well done, and 4 out of the 6 were raw, I sent my food back. It came again the same jacket potatoes which were cold and 4 chops again all of which were raw. Needless to say I didn’t eat my meal and not once were we asked what was wrong. My husband had the ribs and was sick during the night. We asked for our meal and was told this had already been paid, we said no this hadn’t, there was a mix up and another table had paid our meal, after quite some time this was rectified. We will not be going to this restaurant again.

Just a terrible dining experienced

The sign outside where they call themself a pizzzaria is just missleading. It's actually a shame! Starting the experience with moving us from the first table to another one in a corner was just the start of what I would call the most terrible dining experience I ever had. Pizza was a total disaster and the lobster bisque was nothing nearby a bisque and they call it lobster bisque but without lobster and with shrimp(!!!) Terrible food and no drinking menu. Go somewhere else!

A busy place with great friendly service. The view over the harbour is quite breathtaking and on a summers evening is one of the best in the area. Food is excellent, had a pizza which is cooked on a thin base and very tasty. Partner had a goat's cheese salad which included 2 tasty and large portions of goat's cheese. Good cool beer and wine and great coffee. Parking can be busy

Had a disappointing experience at Despensa last night. We had booked a table for 5 and on arrival were shown to a table of 4 with a chair being added on the end. We said we were not happy with this and were taken to the table which was actually reserved for us in a much better position. We ordered water and requested the wine list which took a while to arrive. The water arrived and was left at the end of the table for us to distribute. We then ordered a bottle of red and white wine. The white arrived and was just left dumped in the ice bucket – DIY tasting. The red arrived a while later and was opened and just left on table – no tasting either and again for us to distribute. The food did arrive swiftly. Whilst two people were only part through the meal the plates of three of the others were removed – seeming that this was a signal to stop eating the other two did and then requested the food was boxed for a takeaway. One person who was not feeling too good had barely touched theirs so it seemed takeaway was a sensible option. We waited for our bill, paid and asked where the takeaways were and just got a shrug of the shoulders. They had lost them for which they were unapologetic It was not as if takeaways were taboo as we saw others doing just that. the food quality was average and since my last visit there they have put their prices up a lot which now makes it an expensive venue compared to others nearby Perhaps we just got Despensa on a bad night …..i was a regular diner there but not any more

Family of 6pcs who chose several different dishes. Everyone was pleased with the main dish, but ready-made cakes for dessert are not recommended. In addition, the pancakes were cold and not fresh. Lovely place, nice staff. A little stiff price, but will come back.

Went to this place as every other place was full..!! Seafood pasta tasteless ..when we told two of the waiters they weren’t interested and never removed it from the bill..so won’t be returning ..there are better places in cab Cabopino ..
