Phenomenal typical place in the historic and commercial center of Malaga. Good menu of tapas, muffins…
We had just arrived in the city, they were about to close, but they saw seven lost and hungry travelers and they very kindly gave us dinner. Thanks friends. All very rich. If I return to Malaga I will definitely stop by for dinner.

The service was divine.
The menu only comes in Spanish- we are from Scotland and sadly not competent enough to order.
One of the party vegetarian. The waiter was amazing at trying to support our lack of knowledge & language.
The plates of various potato with garlic mayo, grannies potato & ham croquettes & potato & ham sausage like wrap were what we ended up ordering.
The restaurant was filled with locals who knew the dishes & lingo.
Great atmosphere and I’m sure if we had stuck to the huge blackboard & got through the tapas ordering from here, there would have been more enjoyable plates of food.
5 star, as we were treated amazingly & the waiter did all he could with our lack of language.

Place with typical Spanish cuisine. Don't be fooled by photos of processions and Madonnas. Varied menu, good prices. The dishes are excellent and plentiful, the pulpo frito and the croquetas are worth trying. Friendly and fast staff

The waitress takes our order and they bring the two dishes that my partner ordered, first some meatballs with potatoes and five minutes later they bring tripe when he hadn't even eaten half the plate. I was waiting for my dish, a Calvary Tribune. I complained about it once and also told the waiter to see if it was possible for him to bring out the plate of tripe a little later so that he wouldn't eat it cold. He takes it without a problem and after a while, about a good half hour, I see that there are even tables that have eaten two dishes, having sat down after our table and that they continue taking out dishes at full speed and there is no trace of mine. I notice a waitress with glasses and curly hair who was there and comes from another table to apologize because the kitchen staff had arrived late. Coincidentally, I saw them enter through the door closest to the bar, which was the table where we were sitting, three women who entered with all the slowness in the world and I thought they were waitresses but it turns out that they were the kitchen staff and they were late but The rush they made to enter did not seem like that. The waitress asks me what I'm missing and I explain what's happening and she tells me she's going to claim it from the kitchen. A minute later he comes back and tells me that Tribuna Calvario IS NOT LEFT. A dish that had been written down in the order more than half an hour before, but of course since there was no kitchen staff or whoever there was would not have even noticed, they didn't say if there was that dish or not... Mom, good luck with the big one too. which is the letter and precisely that one they don't have. I am already quite annoyed that how is it possible that they tell me now that they don't have that dish, that they are breaded or that they don't have communication. For the first time I see that the waitress has blood in her veins and she tells me that there is no need to be disrespectful either... Totally, I disrespect them by saying that they are bloody but the lack of respect comes more from the terrible service they have. giving and what has happened with more tables from what I have been able to see. I order a half portion of chicken tears and they take as long as normal but of course, they are badly fried... The batter comes off because I make them quickly and running and swimming in oil like the meatballs that my partner ate who also brought half raw potatoes. In short, an experience not to be returned and it is a shame because I have been many times and we have never had a problem and I have recommended it a thousand times to family and friends but as of today it is over. The service was embarrassing and even worse was the attitude of the waitress who served us, who cared more about confronting and arguing than about understanding the situation and finding a solution.

Tasteless Chicken Lagrimitas, you can only eat them with Mayonnaise, we ordered two Penitentes (third regional Manchego cheese) and a Capirote, completely tasteless, so we asked for Ketchup. They bring it to us in a clay plate, without a spoon or anything, it stings like it was chili and in the end we don't eat it. We told the waitress about it and she responded as if we were stupid or liars saying that it doesn't sting or anything. To all this....they charge us €1 for Ketchup.
Nothing to do with what it has always been.
I do not recommend it nor will we return

Dear, we are 2 regular customers who have always been going to Merchanas 1 for many years but what happened tonight was very unfortunate. The attention of a waitress with glasses and a brunette upstairs treated my partner very badly when he asked her to please have some bread. When we asked politely, they brought us a bag of piquitos for the two of us, which was not normal for two people to eat. The waitress with the glasses dropped the cutlery on the floor when she brought us the plates and she also got upset in front of our table. On the other hand, we mentioned it to the colleague there and he seemed to act crazy until, in the end, I called the person in charge and she replied that there are cameras and that they see everything. Finally when we asked for the bill, the dark girl with the glasses brought us the tray with the money again, she dropped it on the floor and then I caressed her arm trying to have a little empathy with her so that she would apologize for the treatment she had received. He gave us and answered me in a very bad way: -Don't touch me! I ended up getting up and told him I hadn't touched him and that I had tried to empathize so that he would be a little more polite towards the clientele and apologize for the treatment towards my partner, finally answering that she was rude. In the end, I asked for a sheet of information. I complained and the person in charge didn't have a damn thing, she just told me: here's an email to complain and, laughing at me, she told me that I was putting myself on the level of the girl with the glasses. Please, we have to get to this, it's embarrassing. that they are losing a permanent clientele by having hired very rude staff, we will never go to this place again in our lives.

Whilst the food was OK, the guy who served us was extremely rude, and spoilt our experience. We had returned to this restaurant, having visited three or so years ago, and oh my, what a difference in service. The waiter, a middle aged older guy, was impatient with us as we tried to navigate the menu and huffed and puffed at us. Absolutely no need for such behaviour and yes, we don’t speak Spanish but we have managed to make ourselves understand every other time we have visited Spain, through smiles, gestures and generally just being pleasant. As i say, the food was good, not as good as we remember from previous visits, but the hostile and rude manner was totally unnecessary and marred the meal

Very dissatisfied with the food here. We had the Flamenquin, some chicken fingers and calamari. However, nothing had been seasoned, it all lacked any kind of taste was just bland and boring in the end. Shame because the actual place is rustic and charming but the food was really tasteless

The place had been recommended to us and two couples went to dinner. Very typical place, decorated with all kinds of allusions to Holy Week, even a Nazarene mannequin. We loved the dinner and the service that Paqui (the waitress) gave us was excellent. If we return to Malaga, we will surely repeat. Totally recommended.

Stumbled upon this place whilst wandering through malaga. Friendly staff, great food and Carmen recommended the pork with muscat wine sauce which was fantastic. Great vibe, felt like a well hidden local treat. Would recommended to everyone.

Super tapas restaurant.
Authentic decoration, amazing food and really good price. The place is quite small and fully packed during dinner time but it is definitely worth it to try! 100% recommended!

We made a Reservation by phone which was confirmed at 21:15
Which did not indicate to us that the Reservation corresponded to the other street goods
Mosquera and not in mercy square as we thought.
Come on, the little gentleman who took our phone note could be more savvy. Concluding and thanks to the kindness of the plaza waitresses the mercy could look for us table.
Thanks, girls.

My second winter in Malaga... Las Marchand’s is the first stop. The history and religious decor make for an unique experience. The prices and portions are great. Local versions of tapas, love the Malaga olives and vino.
Must go, two locations near each other!

Almost full, but they made all the effort to find us a table. We ordered way to much and so the waiter made us choose again. The Gamba’s were perfect! The restaurant is vibrant and great staff! Very pleasant evening.
