The El Tejar is not the easiest restaurant to find being away from the main tourist parts of the city. You need your tourist city street map. But it is well worth the effort. We went for lunch; when we arrived at 1.00pm, very few customers, by the time we were leaving around 2pm the bar, restaurant and outside tables... More

Great food, lunch starts around 1.30pm, mainly Spanish having tapas/lunch. Excellent food, reasonably priced. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry, the Spanish like to take their time, chat eat chat some more, coffee & brandy more chats then the bill. Tastefully decorated and as always in Spain the sea food and fish is fresh and tasty. Just outside of... More

Believe all the positive reviews this restaurant has received, they are all true and more. Got another week in Estepona and will be coming here a couple more times at least. The food is fantastic with service to match. The waiter talked my vegetarian daughter through all the dishes that she could eat and she was very happy. The was... More

We have been going there for years since it opened and for different tapas it cant be beaten .in the restaurant .you can choose between typical northern Spanish food and interesting first courses .the fresh cockles (berberechos ).are like... I would highly recommend this traditional tapas restaurant. Very accommodating for children and larger parties. This place is a must visit in Estepona.

The food here is good. Not amazing but there is a great range of tapas, pinchos and raciones. You can either sit by the bar and order tapas and drinks or sit in the restaurant and order off the menu. Both are amazingly cheap and well priced and the food you get is very good. Amazing value for money.

Love this place. Wish it was closer to where we stay because I would go all the time. The staff are wonderful, the tapas are brilliant, Basque style, innovative and flavourful. Wine is good and desserts too. I'm hungry just typing this. Well worth a visit, be prepared to wait on busy nights for a table but have a drink... More
